Default EB GT gear knob

Does anyone have a close up photo of an eb gt gear knob? Just curious what they look like, I looked at the brochure scan but its hard to see what it looks like properly.

Are they the same shape as the standard eb gear knobs only leather? or a bit different. I'm guessing they are worth alot of money to actually buy.

I dont know whay, but all the pre ef manual gearsticks look dodgy as. They never ever look good, and i dont know why that is. They usually look off center or offset at some ridiculous angle or bent. I dont know what it is!

Im with you Ben, i reckoned that the GT knob would have looked better than that!

I like how my gear stick looks now, I have the gt leather bag bit instead of the dodgy rubber jelly thing i hate that! And I've also got a shortened gear stick from BPT which looks and feels heaps better. I'm just using a standard base model eb gearknob.. which i like the look of the shape is good, but would be alot nicer if it was leather instead of plastic.

your new gearknob looks good dan, i wouldn't mind something similar to that but i'm not sure how well it would fit, and how well it would match everything else. the silver would match my headunit so could look alright

WRX knobs look grouse and fit the T5 lever. Just need to lop a bit of plastic off that holds the Rex boot in place. They are pricey, but I get the odd free one.

danny: the ea - ed gear lever is different to ef/el. ea - ed is bent back on an angle and bent doward the driver where it bolts onto the shifter link. the ef i have not seen before but i beleive they come up come back then come up again putting the gear knob in a different place

That right Karl, the EF/EL one goes up, back, up.

AU momo should fit, can't see any reason why not.

I did this with the WRX knob, i drilled out the hole, which was to small, they filled it with a hardening Epoxy putty.
Once dried i drilled the hole to the correct size, and screwed it on.

How does the boot match up to the bottom of the knob? I never got around to doing it, but the boot end looked a bit smaller than the bottom of the Rex knob. Mind you this was a MY05 knob, so you might have an older one.

This is the MY05 knob, about $150, I think, stuffed if I paid for it!

Even that isn't particlaurly nice.

There are so mnay nice after market ones that I wouldn't even bother with Ford ones, or any factory knob.

Polyal I dont know, see I did think the same as what you thought and looked at plenty of gearknobs before choosing mine, and I found that out of all the momo and ricerbarn gearknobs that I saw, the nicest one was the perforated leather wrapped stictched Fiesta option from the ford dealer! And it fitted perfectly anyways.

If you havent seen it here it is.

Glad you like it Ben, Thanks mate ;)
