We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Well done Ford.

I wonder if the win was a sympathy win, one to kick start the local industry again?
Not taking anything away from the car, I am sure it is worthy.

Well done to all those that have contributed to the production of this vehicle!

Now, will such a trouncing of the other contenders translate to sales.

Gee I hope so, but Ford will need to capitalis on this through proper marketing. Oh dear.

I thought Ford was doing okay, with our sales being steadier than Holden. Sure, they might never has been as high, but they haven't dropped as quickly...

Or perhaps I'm mistaken...

Goebbels certainly also has a dig that the 1 series BMW is a winner any day of the week and the car you'd drive home.

That guy's incredible. Even in the face of almost full marks (it got 77 out of 80) and the people's choice win, he still digs in that his personal favourite is the 1 series etc etc

What a fool.

Good going Ford.... Only having driven a G6ET for a 10minute stint, to say i was very surprised with the overall quality and refinement would be an understatement!

COTY went to Thai built Honda Accord.

Bleh! :

Good mechanicals, not bad interior, good build quality but man the outside looks like it's been hit with the ugly stick. This is thanks to it being designed for the US of A. From what I remember reading, this is now the highest selling passenger there. Scary :

Oh and it's FWD.

Accord Euro much nicer!

Its not the FG Falcon that won Carsguide COTY, it was the G6ET.

But a well deserved victory.

I think we're talking about the Carsguide COTY here, not the Drive one.

The Drive one is in another thread which has a serious flaw in the judging system they use (taking the cheapest version of each car considered).
