i just picked up my new focus lx and when i lock the car the odometer lights stay on, is this normal or will they go out after time?

Read the manual? Or lock the car, and go back and check it in 5 minutes if they lights are still on, then common sence would dictate you more than likley have a little problem.

Odo light does stay on for a long while after being locked.
