I need help my 5.0 ute wont start just put in a starter motor was not that it just makes a clicking noise help me

Battery ok?
Got a multimeter? Check the battery voltage while cranking then Check for volt drop down the solenoid sw wire as you crank. (probe the sw terminal and a B+ source)

thanks it wont even crank over but it will clutch start tried two batterys

the ticking usually means flat battery.. make sure you do the terminals up tight too, just sitting them on there without doing them up won't start.

Do you have a multimeter?
If not and you want to confirm it's not the starter (could still be the solenoid wire) look at the solenoid on the starter, there will be the thick B+ cable and another smaller wire attached to the plug on the solenoid. Disconnect this and jump a bit of wire from the b+ connection to this terminal on the solenoid and see if the started engages and cranks. Make sure you hand brake is on and it's not in gear!!!
