Easiest way to find them would have to be your nearest dealer. Might not like the price though...

If your a girl, offer your services to the geeky dude behind the counter.
See if you can get trade prices. My brother has a good mate whos a mechanic, basically gets stuff for trade. i got my fog light kit recently for mk6 (WP) roughly, trade prices for each for were 100 bucks. Bezels i cant remember, the wiring loom was roughly 70 bucks. not too bad

We just picked up our new car today. While i was there I asked the parts dept for a price, they told me it was only available in parts (not a complete unit) for approx $350 per pair.

a pair is two, you stated per pair is it $350 per side or $350 for both sides

You might be able to find something on Ebay? I picked up some fog lights to fit our Mazda 6 that fit into the factory bumper slots- $182 a pair delivered from Taiwan complete with wiring harness and genuine Mazda switch for the dash. They are very well made and are proper fog lights (ie. wide beam spread and low cut off)
