Default Motor April Issue

Not sure if it's been posted already

In case you haven't seen it yet it has on the cover a basic-rough mock up of a so called 351kW Allan Moffat Special.

This was predicted back in November by several forum members including me...

Let's see what eventuates later in the year around Bathurst 2011...

I am glad it is not a GT-HO.
I hope we never see a GT-HO again.
Let's keep its glorious past undiluted.

Yes agree ..... in a very hard market and if they go ahead with it, its a brave FPV indeed and good on them for giving it a go if it comes off and would love to see it happen.

I am sure it still wont be good enough for many who would have no intention of buying it anyways and it clearly states ..... it ain't no HO!

PS: Didnt see the Daylights! reeks of HSV! Please no ..... have some tact

Absolutely, they are (well at least look like) an afterthought. Sort of like:

Steve: "Eh, bob"

Bob: "Yeah"

*Ruffles around in the left-over parts bin, pulls out two sets of leds*

S: "We still ave these fairy lights, what should we do with them?"

B: 'Whack'em bellow the headlights like the HSV's, that should add some aussie boganess to it, that way we will sell truckloads more"

I think the should leave them out it looks "HSV styling try-hard" but really they should be leaving that behind for a "cleaner" look. Its not like the LEDs actually help with night time driving. But I suppouse have a use just like parkers. But isnt that why we have parkers?

Pretty sure that picture will be a motor rendition.

The article is probably the one that was caught in Sweden a while back.

Someone must have got an accidental bulk order of LED's at Holden and Ford and they're trying to offload them...

LED's on a big Audi like an R8 or A6 or A8? Yes indeedy do.

LED's on Falcons or Commodores? Please...the styling was fine as it was...

This is how you do it...

Nothing to do with night time driving. Infact its illegal for them to be on while your headlights are on.

They are so you don't wear out your headlights by leaving them on during the day.

April issue of MOTOR goes on sale tomorrow around Australia. Check it out for the real story of why FPV was testing a GT mule in Sweden last month, plus our first drive of the amazing McLaren MP4-12C, comparison tests between the new Alfa Romeo Guilietta QV against the VW Golf GTI and Renaultsport Megane RS as well as the Audi A1 versus the Mini Cooper.

There was an Xr8 at the FPV day done up nearly like this. I think the Vic club President owns it.

I love how this thread has moved away from the topic and onto the more pressing issue of DRL's

Well they are a terribly HSV thing that spoils a very tough front and when everything else is spot on there has to be something to pick on or it just wouldn't be FPV?

The pic on the cover and in the mag doesn't look like a real car etc. It's just another 'chopped' MOTOR/Wheels effort of what THEY loosely and I mean loosely think it will look like...so don't stress about the DRL's

We have an identical R8 to that one parked in our workshop, just been detailed, about to go out the front for sale...............for a mere $360,000.
You'd never guess we are opening an Audi dealership next door in a couple months ey?
