Default Anybody doing anything for Valentine's Day?

I'll be carrying pins to pop balloons and weed killer for the flowers I see

Its fun being twisted!

What's everybody else doing?

Working!

I asked my 15yr old yesterday if he wanted to go and get a Valantine's day card for someone special. His reply "What? For desperado day. No thanks Mum"

It certainly made me laugh.

To me today is just a day for florists and shops to make money. If you need a special day to tell your loved one you love them, then I guess today is just for you

Me personally, I tell Jack everyday what I think of him...oops, I mean feel about him...oops...Okay...enough said

From the title of the thread, I thought you were making an offer.

Nah if that was the case I would have titled it something like "The AFF Single People's Hookup On Valentine's Thread"

We do nothing. Both agree it is a marketing ploy and really means nothing. Plenty of days in the year you can show you love someone, although I have a sneaking suspicion my partner still hopes for something. If it were really a day to celebrate it should be a public holiday lol.

Isn't a hand polish and clean the normal Valentine's Day for single guys?

I was just reading some of the Valentine's in todays paper. My favourite so far:

To the internet - I don't think she has found out about us yet. See you tonight.

The better halfs birthday was on Friday, so mine was a combined Birthday / Valentines weekend that just passed.

Got her this:

The personal plates arrived Friday as well

Booked a hotel for Friday night "Romance Package" thinggo (Thank God for that lastminute website!)

And got her that silly Scooby Doo pillow thing she was ooing and aaahing over a few weeks ago at K-Mart.

Next year... a card and flowers will suffice.

Yeah yeah I know... American marketing etc etc. But the look on her face was worth it

If I had a girlfriend she would have got the best present from me today.

I would have bought her tickets to the monster trucks happening Saturday night, and cooked dinner/dessert and also popcorn for us while we have a movie marathon. Robocop trilogy!

Plan on sending the missus some balloons today and in the card something to the effect of: 'I don't need a day marked on a calender to tell you I love you.'

Soppy and shiz I know. But, women like that kinda stuff at it at least will get me out of the negatives in brownie points.
