Hi guys, recently while driving in the city, my fiesta suffered a low speed impact on the lower right hand corner of the driver's side door. It caved in slightly and knocked one of the door hinges out of alignment too.
Brought the car to an insurance approved workshop and was told that the door was a goner and to wait for their call while they sourced for a new replacement door. I'm driving a WS Zetec and was wondering approximately how long will it take for a new door to be sourced?( Any forumers have any 'experience' in this matter?) Also, is it possible for the workshop to fit a door off a WT model instead? Any help would be much appreciated. Sam |

Hopefully someone will be able to help.
You'd hope the WT door would fit, but who knows these days.. Let us know how you go |

This document appears to be for the WS and WT.
http://www.ford.com.au/servlet/BlobS...=max-age=86400 Page 21 & 22. I reckon the parts are interchangeable because of this document. I do note varying measurement differences in the 3 to 5 door versions, but not across model years for the same variant. |

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. from the document, it looks like the doors are interchangeable. Hmm. I was hoping for an original WS door but I suppose that may be rather difficult to source from the Ford parts inventory?
The WS and WT models differ slightly in equipment and trim, but are the body panels made up of the same grade of alloy steel? Can anyone shed some light on this? Many thanks Sam |

My panel beater sourced a rear bumper cover within a few days and likewise with the rear windscreen. I wouldn't have thought parts availability would be an issue.
The WT & WS use the same steel in the doors. Your other option is to ask your panel beater to source a WS door from a wrecker, there should be a few around.
