Default WoOt!!! someone off the dole line hahahahaha

finally ive found myself a job after two months of bumming around.

im now a promotions rep for bramalco's SA roller shutter division. my job is to basically set up appointments for customers so they can have a consultant come out and give a free no obligation quote and explain all of you questions in detail.

even though im in the roller shutter division i also deal in roof restorations, rendering, roller doors and security systems.

so yeah if any of you in SA (for now) that are maybe looking to secure your home for or maybe to just restore your roofing,
even if you only in the thinking stage of it then please feel free to pm me or catch me on msn (mainly after 6pm) and i can talk to you more in detail).

oh yeah if i come knocking at your door please dont be mean

congrats and good luck.
i have a suggestion for you to help you out. theres a guy around here that does the plastic cladding for houses (you know the stuff...never paint again) and what he done was cut up a heap of it in strips, put his business sticker on it (things like why you should buy this product....money it will save you and where its from...contact details etc) and went around the whole neighbourhood and put a piece in each letter box.
obviously alot will get thrown out, but from the sales generated it payed off. theres a few houses around here now that have been cladded.
its an easy way to advertise without YOU having to go door knocking and getting rude people in your face. (the customers come to you)
maybe you could use this and try something along the same lines.

that wouldnt work bro, cause if i did get a customer i have to fill out a "lead" form for the sales manager to hand out to the sales consultants etc, and then im rarely in the neighbourhood for more than a day or two.

bit hard to organise the forms and stuff doin it that way, unless they all had msn :P

but good idea for a small business though aye :P

Hey well done and all the best with it.

I cant believe it, i found it so hard to get a job, and now ive had 3 in 3 months - first at Coles, then went to Ford, then offered my new one which i start soon. Amazingly, i was offered another job at an auto parts place today. When it rains it pours!

Congrats.
I read the thread title n thought, ah champsky? looked at thread starter & it was you.
Bloody hard work though.
I could never do sales or similar work.
Ppl know where to go if they want a product, that's the biggest problem.
Then either ppl not being home, or home and busy (even doing nothing is busy if youve worked all day), rude ppl etc etc.. anyway, i wont go on.. All the best with it.

My dislike for centrelink has increased my desire to keep my job, its the only one I've had. (8+years)

hahaha i didnt think it would be that obvious hahahaha

yeah it is hard work but if your motivated enough to eanr that bit of extra money then its good, plus theyve got lots of other incentives besides the commision :P

as you said that people know where to go if theyre looking for something, thats true in "some" cases. youd be suprised but people will usually only go looking into a product if they really really need it, which is fair enough. but most people think about it but then they also think about stuff like "can i afford it" ,"will it look good", how can i be sure the work is good quality etc etc. therefore when we go out to the customers we can offer them all the infomation they need without heading out of the comfort of their own home.

and what makes the job easier is that we have like a reasearch team that determine where would be prime suburbs and areas where people would want or might need roller shitters, roof restos roller doors etc.

also, like i said before, i dont actually sell anything, all im here to do atm is to arrange for my area manager to come out and give a free quote and handle any questions, then hopefully if the customer is happy enough they will agree on a deal

but yeah, i ahvent done sales before, but i somehow feel that i might do well in it :P (plus it gets me out of the dirty stuf hahahahahaha)

anyways, i should prolly stop yacking away lol thanks for all the compliments peoples and ill keep ya posted for when i get that promotion in 3 months time :hihi:
