I have a couple of elctrical issues that are driving me nuts and which, so far, nobody has been able to fix.
1. Premium Stereo At 'ignition on', no problems. But after a few seconds the volume drops and 'AU' appears on the screen. The volume control doesn't work, all the other controls work, but 'AU' is the only text on the screen regardless of the function selected. Just to make things even more interesting, a mate from Robert Bosch tells me the head unit works fine "on the bench" and that the tecs couldn't replicate the problem there. Also, I borrowed a head unit out of an old cab and it works fine. The issue must be with the wiring of one of the added features in the Premium head unit. I'm wondering whether something went amiss when my old Nokia car kit was taken out. Auto mute function? Any ideas? 2. Satnav No signal to the screen. I can't work out if its the screen, the CD player in the boot or the wiring (fuse is OK BTW). Maybe this problem is linked to the Premium stereo? Only clue I have here is that my T2 was converted from auto to manual and the wires which join the unit in the boot and the screen run right past the gear lever. Pinched wire? Any assistance greatly appreciated. Anyone know a good auto sparky in Mlebourne who knows their Fords?

I'd be looking at ASL media (site sponsor) to fix these issues.
The AU appears when an incoming phone call is received - so I reckon you're on the money with the nokia kit removal.

Hi. There are two places to look for the mute trigger wire (pale green) the first is above your left leg between the steering column and the radio and the other is under the floor console just beside the gearshift. The second place is where I would look first as one of the screws holding down the console is probably shorting this wire to earth. Cheers MD

Thanks for the tips. I'll get onto it.
I have already spoken to Fadi at ASL and that's where I'll be headed if I can't sort it myself - I'm just trying to avoid taking a day off work to pay him a vist.
