Default Fords (classic or otherwise) you would love to own

I’ve always wanted a Sierra RS500- wow factor and rare. I loved those DJR cars, just awesome and having one as a road car would be cool. Any others?

I'm a fan of the RS500 too. All the Cosworth Fords really. You can add the Escort Cosworth and RS200 to that as well.

Agree on the RS500, they are pretty cool and I'd love to own one.. old mate in the UK has x2 of the coolest around (apart from the DJR cars) and shows a heap of cool info on the RS500 build spec

I was lucky enough to meet DJ and have him take us around the DJR workshop while he still owned the RS500 racecar, he spoke very highly of them but did add they were either ON or OFF and very hard to drive hard in 700hp race trim

As most would I'd love a Phase 3 GTHO, buddy of mine was lucky enough to meet "The Dentist" and view his collection including the Phase 4 to which he refused a genuine offer of 2.5m for it

From what I recall power jumped from about 90 hp, to over 400 or more hp in the space of 400 rpm, once it hit boost. I also recall John Bowe saying he had to give it full throttle from mid corner so that it would be on boost by the time the car had straightened up, due to the turbo lag.

Makes me wonder how the hell DJ kept it on the road during that torrential downpour that put the AWD Nissan GT-R into the fence during the bathurst race in 92.

Other cars that are within reach.. Always had a soft spot for the XF Fairmont Ghia (first car) and the EF/EL XR6's or even a Bronco or early F100 would be cool to pop in a turbo barra into

Jesus where do i start
Also a big fan of RS fords
- Escort RS Cosworth Monte Carlo
- AU3 220 XR8 Manual.
- FG2 F6
- Mk2 Focus RS
- Audi RS3
- Barra turbo swapped XF Fairmont Ghia
Theres a little reasoning behind some of these.
The Focus and the RS3, IMO there isnt an exhaust note better than a 5 cylinder turbo.
Im also a massive turbo 6 fan. It ford never made it id have probably not bought another late model falcon and settled for an RS Focus (when prices were normal)

Got to see these famous 3 at a Bowdens Own open day in 2013

Also seen one of the Shell cars at Lakeside at almost full noise, it was something i cant explain as it went passed me

Oh yeah- a TX3 turbo- I’d have one of those. AWD of course- the torque steer otherwise would be hard work. Now that’s an odd one you don’t see much of now. One for the other thread.

Ford Bronco Raptor.
It looks a step up from the Ranger Raptor.

  • GT350 or GT500 Selby Mustang - the mid 60's ones
  • XA GT RPO Falcon
  • Cosworth Escort
  • Cosworth Sierra
  • something modern - a 2020 GT500 Mustang

The ones I suggested earlier were a bit unattainable but any one of the Falcon GTs, perhaps in original and unrestored condition would be nice.

There's 2 EL GT's on Carsales at the moment.

The best 1 has not even 9,000kms on the clock but they want $100,000 for it!

Can’t go past XC Cobra, preferably one of the Bathurst 351 manual ones but even a 4.9 would do.

I could say a Phase 3 GTHO but it'd be way too much pressure to own the most iconic Aussie car of all .. Of the actually attainable Fords it'd be nice to scruff an Escort Mk 2 2 litre Rally Pack just because I was within a bee's of it actually happening some time ago . I debated too long and missed it ,

Loving Falcons like I do and not least AU's ... A TS or TE 50 wouldn't go unloved in the garage as well ..

I have never driven any of these so they could be **** boxes but in no particular order
XA RPO hardtop hell even a sedan
XC Cobra
V6 Capri
TX3 AWD Láser
There’s a few others but this will do for the time being though I always wanted a XE ESP Ghia 351 4 speed.
