3rd hand information? Got anything to confirm this? There are no national regulations or Acts so you may be misinformed.

As for the rest of the country it isn't so and never will be. Until i have the paper work in front of me i will never believe it. All car's that are built 2006 or what ever year it is built will have to comply with the current ADR's of the year of build weather it is a Hot Rod or street machine. I suggest you get your info from the governing bodies instead of second or third hand. Bj |

I think I will just keep building mine to the plan I started and get SR plates on it.
Cheap rego, cheap insurance and that many events that it can be driven to and from that I dont see it worring me either way! |

lol, they really need to change the definition of a hot rod to pre 78... :P Give the average person doing up an older car a lot more freedom...
Wont go down well with purists though... :

Isnt it at pre 48 at moment?? if so thats how it should stay. 50's 60's and 70's should stick to the rules like they do now. |

yep its pre 48...
Not gunna happen, but wouldn't the build on your cusso been so much easier if it was classed as a hot rod?? We can only dream of relaxed rules... never going to happen though :P

Try this link to the Road Vehicle Certification system site with the Street Rod Manual for modification.
http://www.dotars.gov.au/transport/s...treet_rod.aspx Should answer some of your questions. |
