Default database error

G'day guys,

just a heads up that sometimes when trying to go to different threads AFF drops out and comes up with a database error.

I'm sure you are aware of it and its just a bug that needs to be ironed out after changing servers but thought i would throw a heads up just in case you didnt.

regards

Optus and respective resellers are having problems with our DNS

There was a recent issue with one of the DNS farms though.

That's a good question ... we have so many reseller and corporate customers it's not funny.

I'd say we do have them as a customer ... but they probably use Telstra as well as us. A lot of ISPs out there have a connection to both Telstra and us.

I have been getting this message since well before the change and still after the change. Already I have had it four time tonight, and it seems to work again after I try refreshing a few times, I am on dial up with westnet.com.au:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Yes Mate

There is still one issue, which only pops up when we reach our peak users and guests, Russellw is trying to get this sorted as soon as possible but a week of 3.am finishes and work the next morning is a hefty load.

Meh .... if people just used the IP address instead ... it would work fine.
If people wish to find out which way their connection is running go to your command prompt and type the following:

tracert www.fordforums.com.au
or
tracert 66.226.77.74

The Trace route will tell you which way it is going ... it may show some timeouts as across some ATM networks trace routes will not resolve back (this is normal in some case).

If that happened I'm sure the offending post would disappear, similar to my post that vanished. and by that I mean my post on this forum that has been deleted, just because I quoted someone's comment where they made mention of AFF being built ford tough, and I responded with, so that's why AFF was off earlier this evening.

The important thing is that you have enough tissues to cover several classes of sooks.

Velcro strips are also available as required

The hypocrisy of this site amazes me. A whole thread continues the bs over ls1 being down, but anyone makes a comment about aff having issues and out come the childish putdowns, or deletions. Good to see you upholding the maturity levels of this site. :
