Poached this idea from other forums I'm on, but thought AFF could do with a WMYFGT thread.
Basic premise is a free-for-all thread for members to discuss what particular event/thing made you feel good today, include pics if possible (as long as they're appropriate). I'll start. Sooooo I'm currently in Broome for a week for my mum's 60th. We didn't exactly get off to the best start. Got here first thing yesterday morning and jumped into the rental car, a Pajero, that felt and sounded like a flogged out site car. Then got to the hotel and our room wasn't ready and, as we quickly discovered, service was going to take on an interesting definition...Then the aircons in our room broke, which for anyone who hasn't been to Broome before...it's pretty bloody essential up here! Step-dad called up and complained about the car, so they arranged to meet us back down at the hire place and we, literally, got given a brand new Pajero with only 8kms on it...much better. Spent a lot of the day waiting around for the aircon to be sorted, with very little in the way of communication from the hotel admin. Eventually it got fixed and the guy said he'd check back in the morning. Woke up to completely broken aircon this morning...much less better. Folks complained this morning and pretty much told them either they sort it out or we'd go somewhere else (bear in mind this is the quiet season, so not like there's people lining up to get in and we'd been rather underwhelmed by the lack of service we'd received so far). When we came back after breakfast got told we were getting an upgrade to a suite...and by god did we get an upgrade! Massive over-compensation, but we're definitely not complaining! We're much happier now and my folks have stopped stressing and are starting to unwind, finally. Check this place out! |

Haha, can definitely be a person that made you feel good...but posting about it should remain family friendly, given AFF doesn't have a NSFW section ;)
And cheers iCat, hoping this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the trip. |

Looks like a nice place to be.
For some reason Friday is almost always a good day despite the days preceding being anything but. Maybe it is just determination and setting yourself a goal or luck but it feels good to hit the weekend knowing you've solved a particular problem that may have been nagging at you all week. |

Typical Broome, they wonder why tourists don't go there when you get bad service until you complain, not to mention the cost of air fares and accommodation.
But back to WMMFG, it's Friday and now I'm on holidays and just cracked my first coldy.

Gave myself a early mark being Friday and all. Had a swim then decided I have been putting off expanding "The Ford Room" for far to long. Went down moved a few things out of the way and covered the rest, Then proceeded to knock down a wall, to begin the process of doubling the size of the room. Probably will take a Month but I am on it,and i am happy as

It's so simple but cracking the first coldy on a Friday is one of those things I treasure. Being on holidays just makes it better!

Great idea for a thread, graphicgoose!
As I have done for nearly every Friday for the last 25 years or so, we had tea at the pub tonight. Sure, the venues have changed a bit over that time, as has the company I've spent it with, but the basic premise is still the same: time to catch up with family It all began when I was at uni and even though I lived with my parents, and my grandparents lived in the same town, we did not have the opportunity to catch up as often as we should. So, we decided to all head out to the pub on the Friday night for tea. Well, it wasn't long before it became a regular thing. The attendees have changed over the years, with both my grandparents passing away, followed by my (now) wife and I and my sister moving to Sydney for a while where we kept the tradition going (albeit on a different night). Then we started it up again when we got back to Sale, and we added my in-laws, who also live in town, said goodbye to my mum's best friend, and then my dad a few years back. And we've added our daughter and the regular guest with one of her classmates. The venues have changed as various places have opened, closed, changed the basis of the menus or changed the prices, but it has always been a relatively inexpensive pub or club style meal. The latest venue we have been at now for a few years. We've become such regulars that they always have a table reserved for us (even though they do not reserve tables as a matter of principle) and know everyone that works there by first name. We exchange xmas presents and they even give my daughter a present for her birthday. Whilst I know it is not everyone's cup of tea, I really look forward to my Friday night at the pub. It ensures I catch up with my mum to see how her week has been as well as ensuring that my daughter has the opportunity to interact with her grandparents on a regular basis. Inevitably, the day will come when she will not have that opportunity any longer, so the more time she can spend with them, the better for all! Best of all, neither the wifey or I need to worry about making tea for the night, and it signals the end of another hectic week in our household. Not sure I will ever be able to give up my Friday's at the pub! Craig H

Caught a possum who has been running rampant in my ceiling for a week. I nick named it Jonah as in Lomu, the retired NZ All black. This mongrel angry ar$e possum has been practicing his Hakas on my ceiling for about 12 hours / day.
He was trapped with a smelly banana and will be released in a Nature Park on the outskirts of Darwin. [/URL] Cheers Vincenzo

Picked over 120 cherry tomatoes from the tomato vine this morning and gave them to a friend so she can make tomato relish. Still have heaps more tomatoes that will be ready to be picked by mid next week.

Spent the arvo over at 73 4V XB's place with his Mrs, Ansith, cs123 and u2canb12 for a BBQ lunch and a few ales discussing the finer details for Drag Week at Warwick and Willowbank - always feels good catching up the SE QLD members talking Ford and stuff.
Cheers!

Dabbling around in the shed, working on my speaker project.
When finished, they will stand 160 cms tall, have 8 woofers and 4 tweeters. Look the part as well.
