Default Door light switch

I might be going insane, but I keep looking and can't find the door light switch.
The interior lights come on with the other doors, but not my drivers door.

Where is the drivers door light switch?

Ross

Yeah it's all part of the lock actuator mechanism.

I had issues with the AU Wagon when the battery in the remote for the alarm went, to the point that I could unlock the door, get in and shut the door, and it wouldn't even recognise that I had just done so..

WD-40 fixed it

My interior lights come on if I unlock with the key fob, or key in door.
But if the car is unlocked and I open the drivers door, no light.
If I open any of the other doors, light.

xrghia, did you spray the keyfob or the lock with wd40?

I removed the entire lock mechanism from the door...

I ended up using over half a can just so I knew it should work..

I tried to get the driver door trim off following the post by JC but I can't get the door lock knob off.
JC says "9. If drivers door, drop the trim down so the lock button pops up out of its housing - mark the position of the button on the wire thread with a felt tip pen. Unscrew the button.", but the lock button does not come out of its housing. Any other clues?

Thanks

Ross

Not 100% sure but if your trying to get the actual lock knob that pops up when unlocked. I have always used a set of multigrips with the ends wrapped in tape to avoid damaging it. As for JC saying to mark it this a great idea. I had never thought of it before.

To do this I would think that you would simply pull the door trim off and lower it down so the rod the lock sits on protrudes beyond the door trim and then you can mark its position. Hope that makes sense.

I actually got a pretty good grip on the button with just my thumb and fingers.
I pulled the button up as hard as I could, while pushing the door trim downward.
The button and the surround both came out of the door trim but I couldn't see the rod to disconnect it. I guess I'll have to try pulling the button up whilst pushing its surround down. I guess that's why you need the multigrips.
