Default Barra rod bolts?

Tearing down a barra turbo for a refresh. I can't seem to find a source anywhere for replacement rod bolts that are mentioned in the service manual as torque to yield. I wish to reuse the factory rods. I have ford to call as a last resort but with them selling off all the falcon stock i doubt they will have anything. Anyone got an ideas?

Default Re: Barra rod bolts?

Hi,
What state are you in? At least 3 - 4 of the forum sponsors would be able to help you with some new rod bolts and torque advice.

For example in WA there would also be several tuners / engine builders that would be able to sell you the parts.

I guess most would throw in the additional approx. $700 for a set of much stronger rods when they have their Barra Turbo apart. (Specially for the earliest engines). If yours is a late BF then the factory rods may be acceptable, as they are stronger than the known weak point of the early rods.

Cheers,
