Default Stereo and seatbelt problems same day

Hey guys,

I recently started my AUIII XR6 to be greeted by a 'wiring error, please check wiring and reset' message on my aftermarket head unit and the seatbelt light now flashing / staying on when the seat belt connected. Car drove fine in the morning but by the end of work all these issues had started.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated before I started messing around this weekend trying to fix.

Cheers

This may not help at all however my factory stereo dies every 4 or 5 months. It's completely dead with only a led light on all the time on the unit even with the ignition off. If you pull the fuse out for a few seconds and put it back in it seems to reset itself and all is fine for another few months. Not sure what to make of it but give it a go.
All the best

IIRC, there's a sensor under the driver's seat whose connector sometimes works loose. I think it's to do with the seatbelt pre tensioner and airbag setup.

Disconnect and reconnect. That may help with the light.

I'd pull the stereo fuse as also suggested too.

Do one at a time though, as one may fix the other, and you want to be sure which trick, did the trick!

Hope it works.

Sounds silly but has the vehicle been in heavy rain.
I have had the issue with the airbag light and found the issue.

Down in the drivers kick panel the connection for seatbelt/seat loom is located.
This had become damp over many years and pins had corroded. Got the copper green colour due to moisture.

Finally after a heavy downpour the airbag light stayed on.
Was a bastard to find but that's what it was.
