If you part it out due to write off, keep us posted on engine. I am sorry for your situation. My car has been marked 3 times now by idiot drivers, have about 900 bucks damage and not worth claiming.

You will have to buy the wreck of them and sell that motor or transplant it into another tough Au. Better off you getting the big money for the engine than some wreckers!

thats bad luck mate, it looks fixable but.....lots of hours and $$$ involved, i`d go with the concensus ....she`s kaput ,look on the bright side any crash you can walk away from is a good one, you can always replace cars.

That's a sad sight to see, but glad you're alright. Shame to see another nice AU LWB in that state. It doesn't look good. Get well soon.

A very sad day indeed, I feel for you mate. It's a sad fact but all the money seems to be in the front end on a Fairlane and with the radiator support panel killed there's half the repair costs right there if it's anything like my old NF was. I was told by the panel beater that (for my NF), it was near on 5K just to replace the radiator support panel before you even look at anything else that's bolted onto and around it.

Not good! Shame to hear it! why is the front radiator support so dear i work for ford spare parts and ive seen some excessive part prices but that's a whole new level of ridiculous!

Make sure you buy the wreck and save that engine, if not for yourself then do it for the cash someone will pay you for it!

If the rear has bucket the sides that travel to the roof then it will be definatly a write off but from looking from the pictures it is fixable and all depending on how much its insuranced for???

Repairers will always over quote when it comes to repairs paid by insurers as always the assessor will refine the quote mostly reduce the repair cost.

Now if your dead set on keeping it talk to the assessor and the repairer and they may be able to fix it at a cost effective price.

The repairer would love to do the job as that's a fair bit of income for them.

But note that whenever a car has been repaired its never as good as it was before it was in the accident

You have one thing going for you, you were hit in the rear so the repair costs will be recovarble from the person/vehicle that hit you.

would be interested to hear how you get on with this...it is something that concerns me, with an engine worth more than my car, if i were to be in this position.

if you dont mind me asking, how much is your premium with shannons? im thinking long and hard about going with them

About $900, don't like the idea of it being repaired with so much damage
