Default CENSORSHIP in Australia (from an American perspective)

Quote:
An anonymous reader writes "The Australian Government's plan to Censor the Internet is producing problems for ISPs, with filters causing speeds to drop by up to 86% and falsely blocking 10% of safe sites. The Government Minister in charge of the censorship plan, Conservative Stephen Conroy, has been accused of bullying ISP employees critical of his plan: 'If people equate freedom of speech with watching child pornography, then the Rudd Labor Government is going to disagree.'"
I am unfamiliar with Aussie law... but the kind of censorship they have in Iran and other dictatorship countries is grounds for revolt.

I would love to hear from you guys on this.... and what you think about the American presidential election.

As for the US elections, I think the republicans had a far better choice of candidates than the Democrats who seemed to choose theirs on the basis of what minority group they will support.

Good luck with your decision hope you don't end up as frustrated or disappointed with your new president as many Australian's are with our PM.
I appreciate your response... but realized I did not post it in the proper forum... I went ahead and removed my response and will post it in the appropriate forum.

I am surprised as your presidential opinion... though I am not here to argue. I feel the Republicans got the US into the mess you hear about every day (with the US stock market swings every few days) as well as the wars we have participated in. A change in leadership is welcome to many out here.

I would love to hear additional opinions.
