Does anyone know if their is a gasket between the extractors on a AUII XR8 and the block. Do I just have to tighten the bolts or is it better to replace the gasket if it has one?

Yes, there is a gasket. It may have broken, but it may just be a loose bolt or two. Tighten the manifold bolts first, and if that doesn't fix it, then replace the gasket. Have fun on passengers side - there's not much room there!

I decided to change the gasket anyway. What a ***** of a job. There was one bolt stuck between the aircon compressor which took some twisting to come out. It then took 2 hours to try and get back in.
So the moral of the story is, don't do it if you don't have to or get somebody else to do it! mac72s |

Thanks for the replies guys.
I'll give it a look on the weekend hopefully. I've been so, so busy each weekend, that tweaking and tinkering has all but stopped. I did get to most of the SR with a clay bar the other weekend though. Good bit of kit that claybar! GK
