Default Anyone received a recall notice after part already repaired?

Hi everyone

My wife’s car recently needed some repairs to the a/c system (the condenser was leaking). Very shortly afterwards we got a recall notice in the post to replace the exact same part.

Has anybody else experienced this, and if so what happened (e.g. did you get refunded the cost of the repair/replacement)? Not sure what to expect here and want to check if anyone is aware o any consumer law that covers this particular situation.

Thanks
Jamie

What recall number was it and how long is not long after? Was the part replaced exactly the same part number as in the recall? It may be the same part but sometimes for a recall a later level part is introduced.

I just checked the letter, it’s a ‘service campaign’ rather than a recall. I received the letter a week after I had it repaired .

Don’t know what the part number was.

Ahh ok, sorry can only help with Ford related stuff.

But yes if its the exact same part, you should be entitled to a refund. If the dealer stuffs you around call Subaru direct..

I guess it might depend on if you got it repaired at dealer or elsewhere.
