Really this post is just to put some piccies of the seats out, just incase anyones planning on putting in an amp or similar, or at least know what to expect under their seat.
Preface: I'm a pretty messy person and over the last 2.5 years of owning the car I have had probably every single beverage known to man tip and spill out of the cup holders (which are almost always full of change). This made the carpet under the seats and on the transmission tunnel very sticky and crumbs became embedded in it. On Good Friday I went to Supercheap and got some carpet cleaner and got to work on the car. To remove the seats take the headrests off , bring the seatback to just more forward than vertical, and slide the seat forward so its centred on the rails. Using a 7mm socket, undo the locking bolt for the cable connections on the front of the seat, until the plug is free from the connectors. The mounting star bolts are (I think) T45 Torx. I got one previously from Repco. After removing the bolts, all you need to do is carefully manoevure the seat out the door, keeping and eye on the rear centre rail, its pokes out. While the seat is unmounted from the body, never lift the slide rail, makes reinstallation a headache. When putting the seats back in, screw the 4 bolts fingertight, then push the outside rail inwards, and tighten the 2 outside bolts fully. Then do the 2 inside bolts. My experience is if you don't do this, the rails become slightly misaligned. Reconnect the seat connector (or else you won't have side airbags or seatbelt pretensioners.) Where did you run the wiring for the under seat LEDs from? The door +ve??

heh, I apologise to people when they get into my car when it's dirty.
And by dirty i mean a layer of dust on everything (mostly the centre console under the handbrake, anyone else notice that it gets the dirtiest??), there's never any rubbish in my car. The said people i've apologised to just look at me funny.

I do the same thing. I hate it when my car is dirty, interior or exterior. Just looks so crap, and when it's clean it looks absolutely mint. Actually went out today and bought a cover because my car spends most of the time outside, and I'm sick of seeing it coated in dirt every morning!!!

When you install the seat again and need to tighten the bolts back to the chassis, it is very important to torque it to the correct setting due to it being a safety critical item. Also there is a way to tighten them so you don't put the seat tracks out of wack. I know this because I take seats out and put them back in Falcon's everyday.

Do you know how much they need to be tightened. I just tightened it with a short breaker bar and it seems ok.
And so long as you don't lift the sliding bar then the rails should be aligned?

I can find that info out for you. If you don't move the rails it should be aligned.
