Aftermarket.. Cant think of names at the moment, but there are a lot of companies that can do it... I am guessing you bought an Ambiente?

Yes Ambiente. Is aftermarket reliable most of the time?

How about going to the wreckers?
Find a Trend or above and get a complete cruise control - original Ford parts, sure to fit and work. Not sure what parts you would need and what would it take to enable the feature in your car. Ask wreckers, they are pretty clued up on those things....

The factory cruise has a cut out switch on the clutch pedal when you have a manual.

I don't know that the wiring loom would be the same between the Ambiente and Trend, so getting bits from a wreck may not be an option.

I dont think the wiring loom is the same because if it is the same then Ford should be able to offer a factory cruise control. Who knows..
I am a bit skeptical about installing an aftermarket unit. We are now even considering trading it in for another car. |

The better aftermarket units will be fine, not cheap to install but should be reliable and cause no issues.
I know quite a few people that have had aftermarket cruise fitted to XR5 and RS Focus' (no cruise option either) with no issues. |
