Default Bad advertising from Toyota

Ok. We're all speaking about how bad Ford's advertising and media presence is.

Just saw the Rav 4's commercial for the 2nd time and I think it is downright stupid.

When the bloke asks what's under the bonnet, the fella says "200 kilowatts".

Then old man eavesdropping then craps his depends and starts shouting, "killer wasps" and runs down the street. Soon, everybody starts going spaz.

Stupid commercial.

I hope Ford stay sensible, but also innovative, without sinking to this sort of rubbish.

Well how would you react to 200 killer wasps? I'd be running like a mad bugger too!

It might be "humourous" but I think it's downright stupid.

200kw...ok...fine...well done.

Unfortunately, I think it will be effective.

In the end they all end up in the RAV4 (I think), indicating plenty of space.

At least thats what I took from it, Ive only seen it once. It sticks with you anyway, and thats the point of advertising, even annoying ads are effective and increase sales, as long as it sticks in your head like an annoying ringtone.

stupid or not, its got people on a forum about Fords talking about it.
so, is the advertising really that stupid after all?
i dont see any topics about ads that Ford have done recently.

It's not as bad as the one linking Aurion with its supercharged V6 to F1. That's the one that drives me up the wall most cause nothing could be further from F1 than that.

Its not bad at all but to call it the Aurion TRD makes a big mistake for Personlised plates TRD 6 ( 6) or TRD 1 (sh!*T 1)

lol the add cracks me up all the time and people around me are frequently using the 'killerwasps' gag. Seems to be a winner though it doesn't do a whole lot for the specifics of the car.

According to the amount of views of this thread, 239 Ford fans also know about the Rav4 now (if they didn't already)

There are heaps of memorable ads that drive you crazy but are equally effective. For example (and feel free to add more):

-"Decore, D, D, Decore, D, D, Decore, D, D, Decore, D, D, Decore, D, D"
-"Instant Windscreens, whats our number, 132, triple 4"

To name a few

It's called "matching the content to the target audience". i.e. those that buy rav 4's.

I still think the best tv car add was for the Nissan Tiida- Kim Cattrell making rather seductive sexual noises when driving over the speed humps.... classic.

Isn't Holden still banging on about winning COTY in 2006?

I think the "Holden Bathurst Specials" ads just after they lost in 2007 was classic.
