Not the speed alert is it, I fell for the same thing a few weeks ago on my BA, didn't even know it had one.

Yep, climb under the back of the car, there will be a little arm attached to the diff.
It is the load sensor for the automatic levelling suspension.

It will be telling you there is a fault with the system.
If someone has changed the shockies to aftermarket, then the system will be trying to pump up the original air shockies.
They will probably have left the air lines off them, as there's no fitting for the hoses and the system will not be functioning as intended.

That's what we found with my cousins DL LTD anyway.

On my cousins car we disconnected the arm and tied it up, and blocked off the two air hoses. The car then thought it was all ok and hasn't beeped since.

I'd suggest getting yours checked out by a mechanic to be sure, with all the legals and stuff these days.......

another option is pull the self leveling suspension fuse..
dont know if it stops it or not .. but worth a shot

or go for a run to your local ford dealer and see if they can flash it to shut it up

Yep. It stops the beeping. I still have an SLS compressor in my car but it's no longer connected to any shocks. If I put the fuse in, it runs constantly, but without it, it's fine.

There are no dash lights or anything flashing? Only thing when buying modded cars, something goes wrong and its more of a PIA than usual.

thanks guys, its actually a 96 NL Ghia, yeah its a great car n a great buy, very happy with it, theres a few things that need to be done to it....

Update on that beeping noise, well i asked nicko, and he doesn't have a clue, the SLS Apparnlty has been removed and the sls fuse has been taken out.
And there are no lights flashing, just that noise, It COULD be a cluster bulb gone, but the werid thing is, if it were it woudl be non stop.....
today it didn't beep once, until i was heading home from frankston, then it would go off every now and then:S

As silly as this may sound, it's not your fuel warning is it?

lol, not sure mate, i've got a full tank:S, and it does it.
This sounds really werid but, i might have " " temporay solved the problem, When it goes off, i click the "lock all doors" button, and it keeps beeping for about 10seconds after clicking it, then it stops.....
Is there such thing as a warning to lock your doors when you drive:S?

I dont know if this is correct but my old man owned a NA then A NC and he got the same from both.

then we were told by another owner its the suspension fuse.

what he did is disconnect the suspension pump and put in a pair of not bad springs, then pumped air into the shokies throu the nipple they have in the boot and there was no more beeping hope its the same in your case.

Check it out hope you find the sorce.

When the warning beeps a dash light should also go on. i.e if it's the SLS a Check Suspension light will show. Beeps go for: low fuel, driving with handbrake on, driving with a door or boot open, overheating, low oil pressure, battery discharge/alternator failure, overheating etc etc. Hitting the rest button will also stop it if its a non critical warning.

Sound like a door switch isn't working properly so it registers as open until you lock it and it closed the door slightly more closing the switch.

ah thats the thing, i've checked all of those, and it seems to be none of them, the SLS fuse is removed so i can't see how it could be that?, and instead of it being non stop like it did for a few days, it seems to be inconsistant:S,
starrting to really give me the shits, when i sleep, all i can hear is that noise! haha

Well guys n gals, another day with Schmee, great guy, great mech, It all came down to the cluster, i checked all the bulbs n they seemed to be fine, so it must of been the cluster itself that was playing up, so we had to replace it...beeping noise, never heard again

There is also a warning beeper that goes off if there is a fault with the airbag system AND the warning light is blown.
