Default Window tinting in Melbourne

Hi Guys,

I am trying to source a reasonable price for window tinting my EL wagon. Want to go with the best UV protection and darkest tint. Can anyone recommend some tinters in NW Melbourne and how much they paid?

Cheers and beers, Bob

There is one in Spencer St, green building on a cnr, paid $350 for the territory, so should be a tad cheaper

Great Job

Tint Professor have been giving away trade price for visitors of their web site for months, and people who went through them have evidently been happy. They are my pick of the current crop.

By contrast, the Tint-A-Car near me (who I went through for the EA and KF) are none too polite and unwilling to do any decent deals at all. Obviously they aren't wanting any business.

Yep I had mine done at Tint Professor on Rooks Rd in Nunawading. The job was $265 all up for darkest legal with the rear window even darker. That was done last year. Tidy job and no fuss since.

Tint professor are always $265 no matter what they say or what time of year :P It's all clever marketing.

However, they do do a good job, go and visit their Coburg store and see Mark. He's the head tinter over there and does excellent work.

Thanks, the tint-prof seems the way to go!. Website is quoting $295 for the wagon and $105 DIY. I have tinited before but was unhappy with my cutting but these films come precut. Has anyone tried the DIY, how was the result?
What do you think would look best on a silver wagon. The dark black 'premier 1' or the mirror finish 'endurance' ?

cheers, Bob

I went to Tint Professor once and will never ever return.

There are so many tint places now, ring around. Make sure they back up with warrenty.

I wouldnt touch tint professor if they gave me the tint for free!!!
Go for the 3M tint. I got mine in ringwood (Cant remember the name of the joint) and its a carbon based tint (cause I got a BA and metalised tints mess with the radio reception) But from my research anything int he 3M range is meant to be top class.

Blownba, don't non-metalised tints go purple after time? Or does the 3M tint have something to prevent this? Just wondering how your 3M tint has held up over time and how long ago you got it done.

Its been awesome. I think you should go on the 3M website and check out the tinting films... I have not seen any pboblems over the year and a half that i have had it.

Tint-A-Car (in FTG) did my EF and i couldn't fault it.

I wouldn't go near premier after seeing the job they've done on 2 of my mates cars.

plenty of people opt for darker-than-legal (20% is very popular, and so is mirror tint). But don't be expecting a receipt for the work!

I got my LTD tinted by a mate near highpoint. It was a backyard job but he works for tint a car full time and does backyard jobs on weekend. I have 15% tint. Very dark. You cant get my tint done anywhere as it is illegal but the cops don't care. I have had 3 of my cars done through him. He does a fantastic job with it and he has all the stuff needed to do the job and wont go elseway. It will never peel or bubble. I paid only $250 coz he did it at home and there was no pressure on him. If anyone wants his no. or wants it done through him cheap but quality tint and very dark tint, you can call me on 0439995311 or send me a pm. I can also make an arrangement where you can get it done at the same time as me. I have a new daily and want to get the EB tinted soon. His tint varies from: 35% (darkest legal) to 5%(ambulance tint). Im getting 15% again for the EB. Please feel free to call me or PM if interested.

Mark
