Default Left over glue?

hey guys

I have a slight problem, a few weeks again I was travelling on a gravel round ,which at the time was no problem at all, until I got home and saw what had happened to the bottom of my doors!

You see, my car is an ex-cab and where the decals were it seems that some "glue" off the decals was left over, now the dirt from the road has stuck to it and changed its colour from, not being able to see it at all to OMG what the **** happened! (it's turned blackish-greyish) and it looks really bad.

What I need to know is, can I use anything to get it off with minimal or no harm to the paint as I really don't want to get a re-spray anytime soon.

Any suggestions? I'm really stuck on this one :

Cheers,
BlueOval

Just use some type of alcohol or even petrol to get it off. Then once you have done that, give the area a good wash and wax to seal the paint.

Well thats what i would do.

Wax and Grease remover followed by a good wash should do the trick.

You could also try some paint cleaner, or even bore this mix some car wash and water in a spray bottle and spray the area and then rinse as much off before applying any cloth etc, be very careful with dirt stuck to the paint that in cleaning you do not rub it turning it into liquid sandpaper.

take it gentle and take your time

if needed follow with sratchx but better to avoid than fix
