Default What does the missus think?

hey peeps.

I was just wondering... what do all of your missus'(or blokes) think of your car loving(spending money/time) habits?

My missus has done a pretty good job of embracing my love of cars and is now rather apt at identifying cars (especially fords) however she does complain a bit about me spending a large proportion of my money on my car rather than saving up for a deposit on a house for us. She also gets grumpy when i want to drive her car a lot cause my car isnt really vary practical to go to work in everyday. (this is well founded anger in my opinion though as when i got the XB, which replaced my greatly practical EF, the plan was for a daily driver.... but plans change) She has come around a fair bit on this one too though. She quite often drives me to work or i drive her to work.

So all in all its pretty good. Her only major complaint of spending all my money on the car rather than saving for a house is fair enough... if you think practicaly :P

OH... one other thing she complains about (which really is not a bad complaint...) is that i am spending all my money on the XB when she wants me to save money and buy things/do things for the XA (which she loves and also helped my with the body work on (read: grinding welds/sanding/sanding/sanding:P))

Yep , I make most of the money in my Place as well , BUT I have to spend at least 50% of what I spend on my car on her's as well .

I have some good pics of my Misses out cleaning the motor getting it ready to build and engine bay ready to paint

My mrs is so sick and tired of mine (she hates it : )that she doesn't want to hear anything about it anymore, on the upside she said I can spend whatever I want on it (we already have a house) as long as I don't take out loans or use the card. So really that is two upsides, no whinging and free to spend lots.

My missus doesn't mind very much ("It's you're money - Do what you want Kinda attitude"). Her only problem is complaining she doesn't get to drive it enough ... But, she isn't on insurance plan - So I'm fairly reluctant to let her drive.

Mine is getting used to it (only been together 3 months) and she's not too good at identifying cars (drives an Echo herself), but she's starting to notice done up ones and always pays particular attention to utes :hihi:

I had her all set to buy me a supercharger for christmas until I told her how much they were :

my misus CANT drive mine... its a manual and she has only got her auto P plates. she drove it once to move it when it was an auto and she touched the side protective strip against a pole... thankfully she didnt bend anything.

My missus hates me spending money on my car, Yet she spends a fortune on her birds. It's like her money is hers and my money is hers.....But I'm gonna set her straight because my money is free for me to do what ever I like with it.
Hell, I've even sold alot of prized possessions to fund my car mods.....I've sold some of my ex-race BMX bikes along with numerous trophies and parts.

Welli am the missus and instead of getting a new house i suggested the xr. Also instead of the engagement ring i suggested the audio-visual stuff in the car. I love the car- i drive it more than him actually- we both enjoy it and are forever thinking of new stuff to do to it!!! But ive always been into cars, i've been my dads pit crew with his race car (sometimes it has only been me) for the last 16 years and have always gone to watch my dad race since i was 6 weeks old so i guess being a car person is in my blood- And of course FORD only

I told my missus yesterday, I was seriously considering selling the Fairlane to clear our debts for our future... She told me I'm not allowed to sell it :P

All she cares about is when I'm going to buy her a 66 Mustang...

mine loves the car, all the blokes she's hung round with all her life have utes and the only thing she complains about is the blue badge...but the hair dryer hanging off the engine is bringing her over from the dark side.

she doesn't complain about the money i pour into it as long as i clean her car every once in a while and we go for drives just for the sake of it.

also i have unconfirmed knowledge of her lighting up the tyres when she was coming to pick me up from the pub once.
