Default Silly question

Seeing I’ve had a run around by the dealer that sold the Ford focus 2012 to my dad . They obviously did not do a diagnostic test in 2022 blamed the battery . And they serviced the focus January told me no issues with car and the battery they said was bad . Second dealer took a few days but did the diagnostic found the issue .
My silly question can I take the focus to a normal mechanic or can only a dealer service it . Service at dealer costs $380 plus whatever they say is wrong , which they seem to focus no pun lol on new tyres every service !
Sorry I’m tired of catching 2 buses that take 1 and 1/2 hours to collect the car.

Go to an independent they are cheaper and generally seem to have more knowledge than dealer mechanics.Good mechanics in dealerships tend to leave and work for better paying shops. If they don’t get poached by independents they probably aren’t much chop
