Default Crazy Mexicans (tm)

Well, I just got back from a flying visit to Veeeectoria... Had a bloody good time, too. A few observations:

- It's too cold. It's ok though - I've identified the problem. Too close to Antarctica.
- Jetstar planes are better than QANTAS. Go figure!
- The Anti-Fun Types at Avalon don't appreciate it when you light up walking down the steps out of the plane... Something about aviation fuel...
- Greg the bus driver at Avalon Bus Services is a champion bloke - thanks for the tour of Geelong!
- McDonalds tastes the same everywhere.
- Geelong is full of nice old cars. I can't help but like a place where I saw 4 nice ZA-ZC Fairlanes in the space of 20 minutes.
- The bogans in Geelong will need to find a new source of bummed ciggies now that I'm gone.
- Smciner1's idea of "yeah, 30 minutes mate" apparently refers to some paralell universe that I'm not familiar with.
- Traffic lights in Geelong flash yellow three times before going green - Apparently to improve motorist's 60ft times at Calder...
- Shane's GT is nice, but Not Nearly Loud Enough (tm)...

I was also mildly surprised that all you Victorians whingeing about the Police State down there actually had a valid point. I read several letters to the editor in the Sunday Herald Sun to the effect that speeding was the sole cause of accidents. Every 15 seconds, we were urged to "Wipe Off Five"...

I found this particularly offensive because the "Ring Road" (I was dying to see the Ring Road - I've always had this vision of a road going straight up a massive ********...) is better than 90% of Queensland's Bruce Highway, and the limit seems to vary between 80 and 90... Go figure...

So anyways - thanks Shane for your awesome hospitality - I'll be back!

Because of the stupid Victorian weather I've gone through 2 boxes of tissues in the last 24 hours.

But at least you had steps to get off your plane at Avalon.
Last weekend we had to wait 35 minutes for the plane in front to move before we could exit.

Hehehe, you think Melbourne is cold, its nice and warm compared to where I was when I was much younger - near Mansfield, in the high country where the snow fields are! We used to have a good laugh at all the tourists coming up to see the snow and being completely unprepared for just how COLD and WET the snowfields are, hahaha!

Anyway, glad you enjoyed your trip to Victoria

What can I say. To quote someone: I Had a Blast (tm)!

Thirty Minutes (tm) included doing a bit of shopping for a trip to Adealide that weekend, going home, swapping the XR6 for the GT, putting fuel in said vehicle, negotiating Friday Afternoon Traffic (tm) to find some lost Bogan (tm) getting smokes bummed off him by 15 yo Mini-Bogans (tm) out front of Maccas in town. Oh, and someone is still a little peeved they didn't get a ride in the GT. :

Radio Birdman (tm) was certainly an experience, atleast we had the Dress Code (tm) right, Black from Head to Toe (tm). By the way, love the Radio Birdman Moo-Moo (tm) you purchased, you still need to grow into it.

:

I still find it hard to believe the Green Machine (tm) is louder (tm).

Well that piece of information would have been useful before last weekend.

WHOA!!! I was pretty drunk, but Shane's just not my type...!

I have an excellent excuse for not letting anyone know I was down:

Friday

10:15am: Crawl out of bed, get dressed, leave house.
10:16am: Check letterbox. Find ticket to Radio Birdman concert in Geelong that night.
10:17am: Chuckle, say "bastards!", leave house.
11:20am: Start thinking that it'd be pretty cool to see Radio Birdman
11:25am: Call Jetstar
11:26am: Jetstar has a flight leaving at 12:45.
11:26am: Panic.

and then all of a sudden I'm at the Macca's in Geelong waiting for Shane to pick me up...!

He must've given the place a pretty thorough cleanup - car mags, model cars and XB falcon bumper bars only covered about 80% of available floorspace...!

so i'm not the only one who's noticed that?? i find a mighty tap on the brake pedal helps fix that... and if not, they'll generally try and run you off the road... as has happened in the past :P

and as for Shane's hospitality Nick? who dumped your *** and left me to drive you around? and keep you company in the pub? hmmm? lol
