Default BF GT-P joins 11 sec club

We've had some coolish weather up here of late, so I took the GTP to willowbank tonight and just snuck into the 11's.

11.994@117.10
1.83 60"
Ambient 9 deg
Track Temp 15 deg
58% humidity (nice to be low for a change).

Congrats thats an awesome time.. GO THE FORD! :sm_headba

You're 0.5s away from you're goal and was it just the cooler weather that got you the PB or is there something else/other mods?

S h i t hot Phil, amazing figures for a full weight beast.

1.83 with 117.10, imagine some auto software and diff gears!! There is a half second there alone!!

If this car had drag radials, its the quickest and fastest full street trim Boss. Well done mate again!

Thanks mate. It was just the better air - everything else was the same as the last outing. A lot of guys were getting PB's last night.

The are a couple of things that I'm hoping will get the result I'm chasing.

Firstly, the belt was slipping in the top end a little. I'll get that sorted tomorrow. I've gotta take the pipework off to get at the tensioner so I didn't mess with it last night.

Secondly, whilst the pipework *looks* great, it's inefficient. Shortly the car will get a plenum to front mount the T/B and cut out some pipework from the cooler upwards.

The next is hopefully someone will crack the ZF soon and we can get a decent stally in.

This should get the car to where I would like it to be and it should still be very streetable and reliable.

As a daily driver, this thing is a joy to drive!

Thanks Chris. Can't wait to be able to get a decent stally in.

The car was run the same as last outing. Pump fuel - full weight - with MT ET Street radials on the rear.

The Boss loves boost (even if it's only a little bit, 4-6 psi) and the 6sp auto - even with only being able to stall to 2500 - gets the barge off the line better than I thought it would.

*EDIT* Best 60" was 1.82 and best mph 117.8. Not too shabby! The 60" times have surprised me.

Well done mate, great time.

Do you have a goal? Are you going to spend more money or improve what you've got?

Cheers

The goal at this stage is mid 11 sec daily driven street machine. Not really interested in 10's as I don't want to put a cage in (Willowbank is ANDRA affiliated).

Right now, it's really not far off where I want to be. We need someone to bring out some ZF software.

Well done Phill.. Good to see you have a honky tune now.. and it is amazing what some cool dry can do to a 1/4 et and mph.... Next time I hope I am able to get out there with you.. My new Chopper wheel goes in tomorrow and Honky is tuning it Monday... But it will be 3 weeks before I can get to Willowbank, and I am doing a contract at Mackey that will take 3 weeks to complete.....

Excellent times there congrats 1.82 with no software very good;
Sniper tuning say inside 8 weeks they will have software for the ZF auto.
I don't think you will be needing diff gears, the ZF ratios really give you the best of both worlds without diff ratio change.

Waiting patiently - but not holding my breath on the ZF software - I'll believe it when I see it.

I agree on diff gears. As it is now, 1st to second comes along pretty quickly. Don't forget this is a daily driver, so I won't get gears if I can achieve the goal without them. A bigger stally should get the 60' down to 1.6, which is where I would like it to be and hopefully keep the CV's intact.

I see C&V in Sydney are selling bullet proof CV's at a decent price now.

killer stuff mate well done..go the bf's! hey 1.82 60 is good going for a daily driver and probably won't hurt the ZF as much as a 1.60 or so....nothin better than a tuff GT...

Hi Josh,

I've been following you car's progress in the FPV section.

This car's been on a couple of dyno's and got sheets from 320 to 344rwkw's. I had some issues with O2 sensors which have now been fixed and may explain the lower power figure??

Both runs at the strip with the current list of mods were with the O2 sensor issue causing prob's.

Your car should do 11's easy as you'll be able to launch harder than the auto can. Get yourself some decent rubber and join the club. LOL.

Regards,
Phil.

Standard Brakes on a BA FPV you can run a 16, on a BF you will need a 17...
Get a couple of used 17'' alloys off a BA and fit the M/T Drag Radials.

Hey Josh,

As Spoolman has mentioned, I ran 16's (off AU XR8) on the BA XR6 Turbo and 17's (off BA XR6) now on the BF GT-P.
