Default BA pod set up in an AU XR8 with soon to be fitted 90mm maf

As the other thread was shut down by the thread starter because he didnt want any copy cats, even though many have done this before him, and i just want to rub it in a bit more.

here you go peter :the_finge

Lol.
My mates been running a similiar setup in his AUII XR8 for about a year now too.
Its a BA pod box lower with a huge mouth cut in the bottom/front instead of using the "duck bill" lower snorkle.
Then he used a custom lid which the wider hole centred 80-90mm MAF's bolt straight to, then a custom aluminium TIG welded 3" pipe to his T/B.
Will try and get some pics up.
With a bit of luck this complete intake set-up will be going on the missus AU when my mate fits his blower.

Its a good setup, im happy with it and it owes me bugger all which is the best part.
I cant see any reason spending $600 on a fancy pants aftermarket cai when all this good factory stuff is available for very reasonable prices.

Including the maf, silicon joiners, pod and even the temp setup, it still owes me half what an aftermarket cai sells for.

Post some pics up, always good to see how others are done.
I might have to track down a lid as they use on the power pipe setups for BA's as they have a 4" opening where as a stock BA pod lid is only 3.5".

I think peter will be frothing at the mouth by now :hihi:

Nah Pete, thats my mates AUII XR8 220kw. Not a bad package in it. AFR165's, Comp XE270HR cam etc, lots of goodies in there ;).
Once he puts his Vortech V-1 on i'll be, hopefully, getting that full intake for the missus car to go with the 220kw engine im dropping in it.

If anybody wants a full genuine T3 intake system, fire me a PM. Includes T3 style (sideways) snorkle, T3 pod box and lid, T3 80mm MAF housing and HUGE 4" intake pipe to T/B.

Nice one Phil. I wasn't aware that 2 people doing the same thing is being a copy cat. Well, if that's true, then since I was breathing first (according to me), everyone else better stop or you're all copy cats (man, this reminds me of kindergarten).

I bought mine off a forum member and there have been a few sold off the forums.
Ebay, they come up for sale from time to time, but your best bet to get one would be US ebay motors, search for 90mm lightning maf, they sell for about $120 US including the maf adapter + postage.

Induction roar is awesome, heaps better than the stock setup, no comparison, much much better and heaps more air flow.

Pathetic that some users feel they can deny others information about mods to do - the forums is here for everybody and anybody who thinks they can stop other people from being "copy cats" or whatever you want to call it can PM me and I will arrange a holiday for them so nobody steals their ideas.

Grow up.
