Default 888 RaceCar for sale on eBay :)

Okay maybe i lied a bit in the title unless they fitted stock interiors to heir race cars

Triple Eight Race Engineering are selling their road going show car.

Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo, painted/decaled to replicate the 2008 race car.

2003 BA Falcon, 86,000kms, Auto with registration till 26/7/09. Vehicle is sold as is, where is. This was the Teams primary road going display car for the past five years and is now no longer required.

We can arrange for both drivers to sign the car to the lucky highest bidder. For the ultimate collectible piece of memorabilia, this would have to be it.

888 are removing all ford badges off their cars for 2009 season bcoz Ford AUS aren't sponsoring them.

I wonder if you could get all that orange colour and the signage off and just leave the chrome. I reacon a chrome all over car would be cool ........ and it would certainly be unique.

Like the man said "the ultimate collectible piece of memorabilia".

Buy it and park it in the shed.

Driving it you'd look like a dork, attract major attention from Mr Plod, and get rude hand signs from most other drivers.

After all it's only an auto 6cyl dual fuel Falcon with a Major drawback.....QUEENSLAND REGO!!! (Sorry Peuty)

'Edit'....Orrite Brute6 ...a bog standard XR6 turbo Auto with dual fuel :

Ford should buy it and stick big FORD blue ovals over the Vodafone signage and follow the team transporter around and leave it parked right outside 888 HQ during the week.

I bet its for sale due to more bitterness about the dropped sponsorship by FordAus, if so get over it sooky lala Roland. Surely there must be more to the sale than "it is no longer required"

They'll be selling it because they will be running Fg in 2009, I'd put money down that they will have a FG falcon now for their road car to match their race cars

Well if they're going to go to the FG next season then a BA-BF WOULD be "no longer required" as they'd surely mock up a FG to do the promo stuff.

Edit: tjb45 beat me to it by THAT much,

What about the fact that seeing as though they are racing the FG next year that there is no point in having a promotional car that looks nothing like the new race car?
I reckon its exactly "no longer required"

Aren't the XR6 Turbos the ones they use to take people who win a lap around the track in? They had one of them at the panel beaters next door to our business. I'll get the photo of it off the guy who towed it for them when their truck broke down.

It's Mercury Silver ;)

There are a couple of "full chrome" cars out there, one being a BMW.

HERES ANOTHER ONE

This ones details:-

Quote:
Ford Falcon BA/BF combination, ex Ford test vehicle, painted and decaled to replicate the 2008 race car.

2001 BA Falcon, has standard engine and transmission also basic roll cage, but is not driveable beyond on/off transporter. Sold as is, where is.

This was the Team's static display car, primarily used in shopping centres, dealerships etc. Now no longer required.

Note : this car is not registerable as it does not have a VIN number.
