Its getting worse.. KFC is the main culprit. I drove around the Altona Meadows KFC at Central Square today - drive thru Chockas!!
Better go in I thought to myself, so I did... BIG MISTAKE!! I could have chased down a chicken, cut its head off, plucked the bastard and cooked it myself quicker than the service I got !!! And how much do they wanna charge now days? Meal This .. upsize That - before you know it Bang!! wallet empty! These fast food places are a joke.. Who's with me on this? Which ones worse? Poll !!!

KFC is the busiest drive through, HJ's and Maccas is probably pretty equal - but I picked Red Rooster. Not because they are busy...far from it. The last two times I was there it took about 10mins. I was sitting there, the only car, waiting forever.
Longest wait ever.

Yeah Red Rooster seems to be the longest wait. And they are always empty... which should mean they should be able to serve you faster but it appears not.

the red rooster which i've been to 3 times has been slow as hell every time. at some points the 'chef's' are just standing around talking rather than actually filling the order. maccas is generally quick, but usually stuff everything up at the one down my road - whereas the ones further toward the city are good. KFC ? don't go there. Hungry jacks, very rarely but haven't had an issue.
Having said all that, i eat very little junk food now, used to live on it when i was younger.

Has to be bloody red rooster, and they HAVE to be the best too don't they. And to top it all off the one up here doesn't have waiting bays so it's an even longer wait. Bastards.

ive never been to red rooster drive through, but have been in there twice, both times they just put my food in the microwave, was gross,
KFC at 3:30 on a sunday morning is good, but ive been banned from our local 24 hour one, there was alcohol and a messed up order involved it ended up with a twister and potato and gravy being thrown through the drive through window...

The red rooster near me is pretty good, its always empty and the service is pretty quick and the food is alright.
The maccas is pretty hopeless it took me like 30mins to get my apple pie the other night while the dude cooking them was just standing there talking and at any time after 12 you have to leave straight after you have ordered something e.g. i went and got a milkshake one night at about 2ish and sat in the carpark while i drunk it as i don't have cup holders and the security guard told me to leave for no reason at all.

I don't do KFC anymore after seeing how their chickens are treated.. But when friends do is always a loooong wait.
I don't mind red rooster as much, as the reason you wait a lot of the time, is they make it for you after you order.. Probably because they're never busy, having all this food cooked would just sit around and be wasted. I chose KFC because even though everything is ready there, it still takes forever to get served. |

i'll point out, in a disclaimer kinda way, that my observations were based off information in the past. In the last two months I haven't eaten anything like that

Red Rooter are always slow. Something about making it after you order I guess.
The local KFC is a bit of a 'Hi I'm....trainee' deal. Local HJs is a bit the same, but it's not too slow. They just can't get their head around my complex orders. Never go to maccas unless I'm trying to impress someone and order a pounder. Which takes FOREVER to make. Can't figure out why, it's just some extra meat and cheese (probably should have a waiver though). |

hahahaah go the pounders, feel dizzy after eating that. Every maccas ive been to serves me straight away, hungry's is good just wayyyy to messy but can be pretty quick. But kfc slow as all jesus. And way to expensive but it is probably the best tasting out there next to a red rooster sub :sm_drool:

For the amount of money I'd pay at Kentucky Fried Vermin, I can buy myself plenty of fruit and healthy food to gorge myself stupid on at Coles. Sounds boring I know but give me a fresh apple and some nice bread over deep fried chook any day.

Just off topic a little, How come there are ALWAYS a zillion seagulls hanging around KFC's?.. EVEN miles & miles inland, like Dubbo, or Bathurst.

That KFC stuff can be deadly! Extra gravy please!! |

For those in the Campbelltown area, Woodbine area has all those fast food joints. Plus a Krispy Kreme. Just from personal experience, the more unhealthy the more you wait. Hungry Jacks, KFC, Red Rooster are about equal Maccas.
The real killer in fast food are the type of fat they have in the foods. Trans fats turn liquid unsaturated fat into semi solid fat = blockages in arteries etc (its about as bad as saturated fats). A Whopper with regular fries from HJ has 23% trans fat level, Crispy Strips and chips from KFC has only 1%. Remember the whopper is "grilled" and the crispy strips are fried! |

I find KFC too be very good down here. (As far as service goes)
Now Maccas on the other hand!!!! I had to wait almost an eternity for a bloody double beef and bacon burger, at King Street Maccas, in Newcastle a couple of weeks back. It wasn't even that busy and I find Maccas to stuff up orders alot too. Never had a problem with KFC though. Plus KFC chicken, is the bomb. ;) |

I don't really go anywhere but maccas but I can tell you that I've waited up to 15 minutes in the drive through during the busy hours.

Just on a side note , imo i recon there would be a killing to be made if someone opened a heap of fastfood like outlets , but serving propper roast cooked meals on disposable plastic plate with plastic knife and fork. Lets face it , its easy to spend $7 to $10 on maccas and all you end up with is stuff that just needs to be thrown in the bin. Yet roast dinners can be made for next to nothing ( meat , spuds , carrots , broccali , cauliflower , corn , cheese sause ort gravys etc etc ) and could be easily sold for around $6 a meal and the places would still make a killing. Im so sick of most takeaways these days , it's nice to actually have a propper cooked meal but its hard to find the time to cook it sometimes in this day and age .
