Nissan has undercut Holden with its new Juke mini SUV.
The stylish Juke will go on sale in October from $21,990 plus on road costs, $1500 less than what Holden charges for its similarly sized Trax SUV. Compact crossovers are all the rage with carmakers, as Ford, Fiat, Peugeot and Renault prepare to introduce similar high-riding models in the coming months. The Juke will go on sale with a choice of four-cylinder engines including a 1.6-litre turbo option - the same motor as is seen in the Pulsar SSS. In that car it makes 140kW and 240Nm, meaning it could give the Juke an edge over its competitors in terms of grunt. Advertisement The base model Juke has a five-speed manual transmission, with the option of a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) for an extra $2400. The $28,390 ST-S turbo is fitted as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, and the range-topping, $32,190 Ti-S model has a CVT and all-wheel-drive as standard. Nissan says the Juke combines SUV proportions with hot hatch style in a size smaller than the pricier Dualis crossover. Nissan Juke prices (plus on road costs): ST 2WD manual $21,990 ST 2WD auto $24,390 ST-S 2WD manual $28,390 Ti-S AWD auto $32,190 My comment : Who has been hit with a big ugly stick, several times !!! Lets hope Ford Ecosport undercuts Juke...

I would have one. Doesn't look great but sticks out in the crowd and gives a new meaning to "hot hatch". Would go like a frog in a sock!!

Glad others don't like ...... thought it was just me not liking where car design is going at the moment.

That Juke is one ugly contraption.
Honestly Nissan W....T....F? There is style to be different then there is this. Looks like it was designed sitting upside down. Only the Pontiac Aztec can claim to be uglier.

These things are everywhere in the USA and the Middle East......
In the flesh, I was suprised. They have a great stance. And the Juke R I spied at Dubai Mall was positively awesome. I wouldnt mind a drive of either turbo model |

FG - the most beautiful Australian car to this day - yet it got chastised for being, 'too similar' to the B-Series, although it had new panels...
Then when companies release cancerous puke in car designs, they're commended for being different. Of course, when the AU released, it was also given a hard time...still is - despite the fact that it was a good car back in the day. An AU XR in good condition still turns heads. I don't think anything good can come out of the light-SUV market.

Um actually I dont mind it.
Its different instead of just going with the flow, plus the add is funny so there is some more points. Id never buy it, but I thought it looked quite ok in motion.

Don't mind it, not by type of car normally, but if I wanted a Mini SUV, this would be the only one I would buy.

Well, if you're paying designers a salary then they have to come up with something.
It'll just fit in on the road besides all the other short wheel base, high revving quirky machines. A German mechanic I know tells me that turbo charged 4 cylinder cars in Europe are regarded as rubbish and are mostly seen as a vehicle to do 100,000 klms and then trade in. A little car to do the shopping, drop the kids off to school and go to the beach on the weekend, which is what most vehicles are used for these days anyway. From my short time looking at FF, I'd say most of us are looking at vehicles in a different light entirely. |

I dont mind it either, Im sick of cars looking the same, good on you Nissan for giving it some style. Take a look at the JUKE-R I can see that as a WRC.
