Default OK....The problem with not watching the road.

Ok so today i was driving along and something to the side of the road caught my eye...i took a glance and the next thing i no im heading for the back of another car that has stopped in front of me...i take evasive action and just clip the rear bumber of it but destroyed the whole left front guard and blinker on my car....funny thing is that i was heading over to the post office to pick up my new clear blinkers when this happened....

so my question is..how much would it cost to get a new front guard painted?? i picked one up from the wreckers and have fitted it myself...it may need a few dings knocked out of it....

It's an easy mistake to make so don't stress too much. As well as running up the back of Adam, I've also had someone run up the back of me, so I know what it's like to be on the recieving end! Besides being a little bit annoyed, I didn't get worked up about it. Good luck with the repairs

was she worth looking at enough to smash your car up???? Few years ago a mate of mine smashed his statesman right up the back of a taxi because everyone in car was looking at the hot blondie walking down the local nightclub strip.... no one saw it coming because no one was looking out the front window of the car!!!!

already put a new panel on...just need to get it sprayed now...

bak to the question

how much would i expect to pay for the panel to be sprayed??

also is it possible for the car to be entirely sprayed in the same colour just on top of the paint thats already there to get rid of some scratches and key marks??

2G that sounds a bit steep....either way my excess is 850 and that doesnt cover my car....so will get some quotes on their car and choose the cheaper option!! even if its 900 quoted it would probably be best to pay outright to keep my policy claim free!!

Ring a panel shop and ask would be your best bet. It depends on how well you want the job done, and how much work they'll have to do to get the panel straight. Most of the work in resprays goes on preperation.

I'm hoping someone behind me gets distracted!!! The best thing that could happen to this POS I currently own (I can't believe how much I hate this car, it's the absolute opposite of the previous one!) would be for someone - like a cruiser with a nice big bullbar - to try and drive through my boot at about 40km/h, because I don't think I'll ever get what I paid/spent on it if I sell it :(

Lack of concentration contributes to more road accidents than speeding.

Always look as far down traffic as you can, this way if you take your eyes of the car in front, you already know whats going to happen.. Great skill that everyone should do, I know most just watch the car in front.
