I know the part number exactly.I also read that these guys took some of their saloon cars down the 1/4 mile and only got 15's.

yeah thats what i've herd as well !! but the funny thing is that these motor's are so well balanced it's not funny and put out around the 150rwkw mark i think!!!
The reason why i am interested is that these cams may be suitable for a pretty much stock head with good springs???

Umm.. alot make closer to 170rwkw.. and the car being as light as they alot run into the 13's.
Ive looked into getting one of these motors before, as much as they are restricted they cost around $4500 to build and go very hard.
Not sure on the cam specs, but they like revs.. 6500-7000rpm kind of revs.
Last time I spoke to a saloon car engine builder he didnt recommend it for street use..

Default 15s

i think they are only getting 15s quarters because of gearing and stiff suspension setting , wheelspin maybe ??? :eclipsee_

lol or they are just not running 15s?

Think about it logically, they are a stripped out falcon, putting 60rwkw more over standard, with loads of torque, race suspension, slicks, and guys that can drive.. If it only ran 15's which isnt much faster than stock, you would roll and burn the thing.

The cam is not far off a wade 1004 110lsa. Remember they are running full after market ecu's. The car I was involved with pulled 172rwkw at 5000rpm in 4th.

Stav you worry me sometimes.. You cant honestly sit there and believe all Saloon cars only run 15's?

Some on that thread run mid 14's and they were also saying 13's wouldnt be out of the question in 'better' conditions.. ie sticky track.

Did you guys ever think that they target top end power only and that while this is good for saloon car racing that it does not focus on low to midrange response?

They need the power/response all through the rev range?
They are race cars on a race track!!! not dyno queens..

What good is a track car with all top end peak power with nothing through the rev range?
AND IF it was all peaky/top end power they would be faster again on the 1/4 mile!
I dont know about you, but my car doesnt drop below 4000rpm on the drag strip.. while on a track it sometimes drops down to 2500rpm..

A car that needs to be revved hard for a circuit race wont have the same power requirements as a drag car.

Yeah, a circuit racer would need (or at least benefit) from a much wider power band than a drag racer.
