Default what allows your motor to rev more

hey guys

was wondering what needs to be done and what point there is to making an AU VCT rev more..

ie what needs to be done to enable higher RPM and what makes it useable??

fromy my understanding its all in the cam and valve springs and some bottom end balancing?

cheers

good pistons and stronger rods would be a good start.

If I was looking at doing somthing like this not yet anyway but I would leave the block and just work on the head, bigger cam Valve Springs ported and polish that what I'll be looking at doing.

On the hardware side, your motor is capable of 7500 rpm with the correct conrods and valve springs. To get it to pump air all the way to those revs will need larger inlet tract including throttle body. You will need a pretty well worked head with some big valves and a free flowing exhaust. Naturally, a big mother cam which might necessitate some work to the pistons. Don't expect any change from $8,000 if you are serious about doing it properly. But be warned, at less than 3500 rpm you will not enjoy driving it on the street.
