Expect to pay from $2000 for a 1988 Fairmont or 1991 Falcon up to $15 for a 1998 V8 Fairmont Ghia
Gee, I knew the price of V8s has gone down, but an EL Ghia V8 for $15. What a bargain!

Completely Australian in design and using largely local parts, Falcon is slightly cruder than its arch-rival Holden in later models. That's because it costs more to design a car from scratch than it does to modify an overseas design, as do the Holden engineers.
Nothing crude about the EL, but it is good they mention "Australia's own" Holden, not being as Australian as people think.

Notice the picture of the 1994 EF is actually an ED. As for the 89' EA, what a nice looking car! I just love platinum silver EAII Fairmont Ghias. I wonder why that would be.

Nice article, it does cover the necessary points adequately without too many errors. I agree that the EL is not crude compared to the VS Commodore, but it's certainly grandpa's axe next to, say, a Toyota Vienta. At least Ford had an excuse.

And yes that EA pic is nice. It does show how minimally a good EA-shape car dated during its lifespan until 1994.

Where were these $15 EL Ghia V8s when I bought mine? I paid $16,000 for mine last year. I got pwned!

I reckon ef front bars a so much better than an el, but an el with ef rear taillights and front bar looks sweet!
