Hey fellow (former?) E-series owners,
As some you know may know... I did everything I wanted to with the EF and it was time to move on. With the spike of the petrol prices and the "I'm Over It" attitude taking its toll i bit the bullet and sold the thing! A guy from nsw came down to see it and was the first to do so. He left with it the same day. I was pretty depressed but for 12grand firm i think i did alright for an EFII with 186,000k's on the clock. He offered 11,500 but i was quick to shut him down.. i would have taken out the system (which cost me mid3g's) for anything lower than 12k. The day before he was coming down i spent 6-7hours on it.. waxing it, detailing it, the works! I would have used a whole bottle of WD40 on the thing - I have this obsession with the stuff. I spray it inbtw my doors - in my engine - apply it to cloth and rub on the rubbers. Its the best to use for your car. Now for a replacement car - I only looked at rear wheel drive straight 6's similiar to my old ford, so a few days after selling it i went out to see a 328i manual coupe 95model but was not impressed by the rust this particular vehicle had. Also checked out a black 325i manual coupe of the same year. I'm very keen on beamas as you can see.... , while i'm typing here im wearing my williams bmw pit crew shirt. Both these cars had over 160ks!! so my dreams were fading... But then i decided --- NEVER BUY A CHEAP BMW. and thats what immaa do! so i'll hold off for another decade (lol). Was always keen on the IS200 Lexus but always thought they were front wheel drive for some reason and mostly 4cyl. But no. They are infact rearwheel drive and straight 6 cylinders. Although a 2litre its very good on the petrol and feels the heaps better to drive as it is a 6speed manual!! Yes thats right.. i bought it! the colour is very old-man but I have some pretty good plans for this thing... Lets just say the measurement 19 comes to mind and also the words carpc/gps/tv also does to... Heres pictures of my "old" ford on the last day i owned it and pics of my new car (stock) Charbs (aka Chubbz) Last edited by Charbs; 04-11-2005 at 11:37 PM. |

hahah hey mate hows your beast going!?!?!
well its stock as at the moment so i dont feel the urge to show it off just yet but i will post pics tomorrow. I am getting really dark tint, 19inch hyperblack or shadowchrome and in the process of building a carpc - already have the lilliput 7inch touchscreen Thats this summer.. then eventually a better sound system (they already come stock with 6by9s, amp and splits so im happy for now)... and maybe a little engine mods but nothing major as i want a quiet car |

Look forward to checking out pics of the IS Chubbz. Your old EF defined the term "Mint" in my books. I always loved that car.

The IS200 is a great car. My Wife had a 2000 Sports Luxury, Auto, however we traded that back for a Mazda 6. It never let her down, however the problem with any Lexus is the fact that a Lexus is a 'Silent' Car, that is, you can't really hear the engine. This didn't worry the Wife, however I, from a Falcon diet, found the Auto, and the engine a bad match. Please, go the 6 Speed Manual. You won't regret it.
Compared to the Falcon, those cars are cheese and chalk. Enjoy your new baby. Out of interest, what colour is yours? Mine was Graphite (Gun Metal Grey), and with the black 'Alcantara', and Leather, looked great.

Yeh thanks John!
With half the engine size of the ford it doesnt do That bad! i kept up with my mates VS (on gas though).. thought that was pretty funny. Been rim shopping heaps but theres not much i like. Definately want a classy looking rim, as opposed to a racer-style rim. I'll have pics very soon i feel ... Watch this space Charbs |

Very nice, a great choice from every perspective
There was an option pack with 17s from memory, if you want something factory looking that would be an option. |

hahaha i knowwwww.. not for long though i can tell you that much.
IM SPEWING i sold my soundsystem with my ford though. My brother has already installed his carPC (7inch touchscreen indash) in his liberty rx 2001 - looks factory! SO once i do that i wont miss it that much. i wanted to do rims first i guess.. |

hehe you're a sick man.
How are you going about lowering? Will you do shocks as well? Any brand preference? Just curious because a friend is interested in doing something similar. |

Not sure about which springs to choose yet jack.... i wanna see how high up it will sit with the 19s first.. Basically i want it sitting like my old ford (12cm off ground). Just gonna do springs - the shocks are pretty stiff as is.
