my fairlane has code on the radio but when i go to put the code in nothing happens, tried disconecting the battery but no change anybody got any suggestions?

Hi all sorry to jump in but I have a similar prob
I changed batteries the other day and had to recode the stereo I thought I knew the code as Ive had the car for ten years but I got it wrong three times and now it reads "err" I left the battery disconected over night but still the same prob still err it wont let me enter the code (which I now know) as I read the book is there anything else I can do thanks John |

You have to leave the ignition on for an hour and then you ll be able to put the code in. What I did I was driving around and and eventually I was able to put the code in. Hope this helps.

Same, i have the radio code that came with the car and its books and went to ford and got them to give me a radio code and it still will not accept the code?
any ideas , yes it has gone into err but after one hour you can re enter the code but again it wont take either codes Cheers

Maybe the radio has been changed?
You might have to pull the radio out to see if the code is handwriten on the back or if not, use the radio serial number to get the code off Ford Hope this helps.

If none of the advice already given doesn't solve your problem, there is this thing called Australia Post. You could send it to the site sponsor, or take the 2nd posters' advice
