Default Probs with rear brake pad change

Hi Guys

while trying to change the rear brakes on a 1992 Laser i am unable to depress the brake cylinder all the way in. Therefore there is not enough room to fit over the disk (basically the brakes cannot open wide enough).

So is there any trick to depressing the brake cylinder? I have tried forcing it with a g-clamp but no luck. Any help will be appreciated

Pretty sure there is a bolt on the back of the caliper that you have to remove. Under the bolt you will find a hex inside the caliper that will accept an allen key. Turning this will retract the piston.
Dont use a G clamp!!! There is a handbrake mechanism in there.

Agree with the above, had the same deal with the Telstar, I believe repco sell the tool with their brake pads. Allen key worked fine, be careful nt to strip the thread and don't use the g clamp.
