Default FORSCAN PATS Key programming

Has anyone ever successfully programmed a new key for an LT using FORSCAN?

As an experiment i bought a cheap flip key, first it had the wrong chip (ID60) which wasn't detected so i got an ID63 and replaced that. Chip now detected the programming process completed in PATS but the number of keys programmed stayed the same and the new one doesn't start the car. I've read a some stuff on Forscan forum that says some Australian cars can't be done, could be just junk china keys/chips curious if anyone else has tried.

I know it can work as i programmed a proximity key for an 09 Mondeo just fine, kinda shocked that worked tbh

Hi mate,

did it give you a B1600 code? Or any other code for that matter?

It gave B1601, like it should have been able to program, but like I said even though Forscan said it was completed the key count didn't index. It did seem to progress very quickly, got to about 25% and then said "done". I have given up on it at this point, just have to fork out the money for a better quality key & locksmith i guess

B1601 is Unprogrammed encoded ignition key detected.

It's either the chip or it could be your obdII cable. Maybe just get a new chip, and swap it over?
