Default What came "stock" on an EA 7/88 model?

I am curious about this as I realise more and more has been done to my EA Falcon that is not stock standard.

So what did it come out with originally? Does anyone have a copy of an ad from 1988 or something?

Ta babes, love your work

The main difference is the 3 speed auto, which was left in from the x series because i believe that ford simply didn't have the BTR 4 speed in production yet.By the way,the electonic 4 speed was considered such a revolution, that there is one on display in the Powerhouse museum in Sydney....also,I think the tiny 3.2litre engine version was discontinued after 1989

Not sure about these 3 speed references, the $50,000 DA LTD had a 3 speed auto.

4 speed auto wasnt ready for mass production until series 2.

originally ford planned for them to be in all ea's, but BTR couldn't build them fast enough (or work out their machining process, whatever)

the 3.2 was designed and included in the lineup when ford thought holden were going to run the RB30 in the VN, but when it became obvious this was not the case it was dumped (unfortunately they didnt dump cfi entirely until eb2)

I noticed in that link to the scanned-in brochure that some things came as a kit, such as electric mirrors, and airco and towbar was an option.

Interesting
