Default Young & Old

I was cruising along on the FWY today and spotted a nice restored baby blue XP coupe.
The thing that really got my attention was the red P plate displayed on the back window.

This got me thinking, how many young members do we have here with old school rides?

Post up a picture of it if you have one.

My first old school car was an XC Falcon 500, when I was 19, and then bought my Fairlane when I was 22.

When i was 17 i had a 1955 Ford Customline. (I was 17 in 1997)
When i was 18 i bought a rough XP Falcon sedan - Still have it.
During this time i also picked up my XC coupe - Still have it.

(mind you all are good from afar, but far from good!)

There is a few old school cars with P plates getting around here.

I'm not a youngin anymore but...

I had a 302 XA coupe for my first car in '97 when I was 18.
A 6cyl XC sedan for my second car about a year and a half later.
Bought a 302 GXL for a toy when I was 22 but only had it 6 months (Mum didnt like it sitting in the back yard lol).
Bought a 302 ZF Fairlane for a toy a couple of years ago but had to sell it a few months later as I had no where to store it at the time (my garage was full of my landlords crap). He emptied the garage 6 months later so had I just held out I would probably still own that 'lane.

I wish I had the money and space to have an old school ride in the garage nowadays. I do prefer my V8s fuel injected though.

When I was 15 I bought my first car, had to have it for when I turned 16 and got my L's because my parents said there was no way I was using their car!

Was a 1974 Corolla, two door in that baby s^&* brown colour.

Was stolen and written off totally in 1999 when I was 19. To this day, I still miss that car and regret the day I drove it to the shops only to find it missing when I came out. It was a POS, but it would have made a beautiful little project car.

First car was a '78 TE Cortina 4.1 4spd when I was 17, still have it (it ain't real good tho), when I was 19 I got the EH wagon while I was at uni, which went off the road for a few years, but now is back again as a daily (but now I'm 28, have a kid and a couple of mortgages so I wouldn't class myself as overly young now) got the 302 XP a few years ago too... Can't drag up any pics of the Corty, but here's the other ol' skool rides, in all their 44 and 45 year old glory

my first car was a 1976 datsun 180b, and I still have it and it runs quite well. I am 23 now and I have a 1979 XC fairmont wagon, which my grandfather bought brand new. It's a GS rally pack with a 4.9 3 speed c4. I have no pics.

My first old school car was an XC Falcon 500, when I was 19, and then bought my Fairlane when I was 22.
Recently I was driving north on Brighton road here in Adelaide, and I caught view of an immaculatly restored White XK Falcon Station Wagon, emerging from a side street to my right up ahead.

This classic immaculate...Chrome shining in the Sun Falcon was being driven by a very attractive young Blond Girl...she could not have been more than 17/18 years of age....she had her P plates on.

For a moment it was like I travelled back in time to 1974, when I was 18 years of age, driving my white XK Falcon sedan (with grey roof) my very first car...unfortunatley there is only a partial black and white photograph left from those times.

I must confess...they made those young blond haired women, just as good looking in my day as well....aaaaah memories....

Cheers all!

First car was a 79 TE Cortina 4 speed when I turned 16, but I only drove it for a week when I got my Ls before getting the VL.

I always wanted my dad's HR wagon, but he wouldn't give it to me. It was sold in 2006. :(
