Default Keypad help

Hey guys
I just replaced the battery in my central locking keypad and I was changing from stage two locking to stage one locking and now when I lock it, it puts out about 5 really quick beeps of the horn? I did a search but couldnt find anything. Does anyone know how to fix it, oh and its a AUII
Thanks
Luke

thats sounds like the noise it makes when one of your doors aren't shut properly & you try locking it...

you might have to take it to a ford dealer or any one with a scan tool to see if the ecu has lodged any codes...

Ok ive worked out that its the drivers door lock. It works fine unlocking and locking with the key but when I use the remote it wont open or close properly. Would this be the actuator has gone in it or does anyone know

Thanks
Luke

yeah sounds like that, if it works fine with the key it's gotta be something electrical...

Funny you should say that ... my passsenger actuator died in the ute yesterday ... had to get a complete locking mechanism and replace it ... comes with jump loom as well for the AU ... as the actuators are made with B-series loom ... Ford supply the jump loom for $12.

Not had to change ... need a T30 bit to unbolt the locking mechanism from the door though (3 Torx screw).

I had a grinding noise from the lock when i tried to lock it ... and it stayed open ... causing all locks to stay unlocked ... so i had to replace it (being a work vehicle)

But ... if the key works ... it won't be an actuator ... maybe a sensor for the door ajar.

Yeah I unbolted the lock from the door and had a bit of a look at it. Its like when it tries to unlock it gets halfway done and gets stuck or something and locks again. And the same thing happens when locking it. It does this with the remote locking and the locking button thats to the bottom left of the dash. It all works fine manually with the key though.

I bought a new one ... cos i didn't want to risk getting a 2nd hand part ... and have it fail on me again.

Ok well I pulled both the doors apart to have another look cause I had to fix the handle anyways. With the cental locking I discovered that it still works. It will lock and unlock no worries but then if I try it again straight away it doesnt work. So I left it for a few minutes and it worked again first go but then it wont work properly again until I leave it a while and it works again....
