Default XR5 Original Oil

Does anyone know what the factory fill oil is in an LV ST/XR5?

No real reason - just curious.

I could be wrong but I believe it's Mobil1 fully synthetic. I know it's 0W40. If you look in the capacities and specifications part of the manual I think it even names a brand.

Ok Tj, thanks for that. I'll be running either Mobil 1 0W-40 or Penrite Sin 0 0W-50. Haven't made up my mind yet.

RS027, my manual clearly states 0W-40, which is different from, say, the 2007 model like my brother had. That recommendation is as you say. Did you mean that the Edge is standard fill?

from factory they have a mineral oil (unsure of exact specs sorry)
when serviced by Ford we put Castrol Edge Sport 5w30 as per the manual. It's a high performance FULLY SYNTHETIC oil. The Mineral oil should stay in till 7500kms at the minimum.

Thanks entheos, but mine definitely states 0W-40 fully synthetic.

That's what I've always put in it.

My service department puts in either 5W-30 or 0W-40 depending on whether it's coming into summer or winter, I get mine serviced 6 monthly in March and October.
