Hi Guys and Girls, other than FORD who else cuts keys for the ignition ?

Try a key cutting place like Mr Minit, even hardware stores have a key cutting service.

Just be aware that some keys have a micro chip in them and require certain procedures for the car to recognise and accept the cut key. This is for the ignition mainly.

My mate had to have a new key cut and reprogrammed for his VU SS ute and he had to do some things with the car for the ecu to accept the new micro chip in the key.

my local locksmith cut me a key for a forrester GT at a price of $140 and had the computer software to code it, so Id say alot of local locksmiths have the power to cut and code these types of keys (local said it had only been do-able in the last few years). Also saw some blank keys floating around on evil-bay

Thanks Guys. A local locksmith will do it for $120 including programming.

That's a lot better than Ford's price of around $250.
