Default BA XR6T snorkle into AU I6

as i was busy at work today i got a mate of mine to call up in regards to purchasing an XR6T snorkle (because i wanted one without the wings) and he was told by two or three places that it was not gonna fit as the bonnet squashes down the intake and it effectively does squat. now i'm under the impression that it fits and works a dream. have i gotten lost amongst all the information or do they not know as much as they make out they do? i have a series 2 ute (which means it has the series 1 bonnet if that helps) appreciate any help. cheers guys.

It's the same shape as the AU3 XR8 intake, which was fitted to the AU3 XR8 (obviously) which had the low series bonnet. So in short, yes it will fit, and it works.

I was told the exact same too - whenever I purchase something from Ford now, I don't tell them what it's going on - works out to be much quicker and easier!

Yeah so do I. And there are NO problems. It fits perfectly. Can't see the low series bonnet making much difference.

yeah thats exactly what i thought, well i've managed to put it down to they don't have any in stock and are just trying to get out of say "we don't have any", i dropped in myself this afternoon after work asking if they had any and neither place did. now i guess i'll try FTG auto salvage and see if they have any available, if not might have to go through ford unless someone has one they don't want?...
