Default Praise about your car?

When was the best time you've received praise about your car, weather it be someone who was impressed with the performance, the look, anything?

I'm not sure about mine, its always a good feeling having people comment when you're simply filling up with fuel (especially BA XR owners when they realise its part of their car)

One of the best, was on Chapel street the other night, the driver of a blueprint EL going in the other direction yelled out 'nice kit man' .. confidence booster

LOL, since the respray I've had a bit of stuff like that happen, but mostly shit yelled out from a distance.

Latest was a hour ago at Maccers, some guy yelled out "oh sick it's green" lol.

"get a holden ya poof" some guy in a VB.

"you need to change that shirt, you're Ford aint racing nowhere" some bogan in an F350?

"geez that paint is pretty good for an 88' model, is it an XF ?" Tim, who I used to work with.

"goes allright for a 400,000 km old Family sedan" Most people who have been in my car.

Don't get to many positive comments, though I used to get asked about the wheels a a lot, when i had the EL GT's, things like, did you get them colour matched to your car. Are they 18's ? Where did you get them, how much ? etc..

I get a few good comments about my car from different people. Nothing really stands out that I can think of at 1am in the morning. But its always a good ego/confidence booster when it happens.

Not many guys have the balls, or are big enough guys to say much to leah when she drives the EL.. if im passenger they usually lean to me and tell me nice car. They are shocked when i say its hers!

One i can think of that sticks out, is a au ute pulled up beside and both guys were checking the car out, and then saw leah and started blowing kisses. I made sure to puff my chest out and be noticed. Didnt help much. They left in a smokey burnout, and i left in a bad mood. Leah of course left very happy.

All Ford day this year of course rates up there!!!!!!!

um the only thing I can remember was when I stopped to fill up at a station and the guy next to me said "jeez that sounds pretty mean for a 6".

And that was maybe 1 week after I got the exhaust done; the best 300 spent on a car ever...lol

When I had the EB I was told- "what is that doing on our cruise, I can fart faster than that!" Good old hubcaps

Needless to say they were surprised when I kicked their manual VN SS's ****. My mates in there car were ****ing themselves as soon as the other guy said something. It was ownage right from the start lol.

Gen 3 owners always paid respect when I surprised them. Everyone loves a sleeper.

As expected I get heaps of comments in the AU from guys in hilux utes to P plater chicks in Honda preludes with chrome rims. :

I get heaps of comments on how good the Mk I Escort looks whenever I drive it. It seems to get everyones attention.

Best occasion I can remember was when I was sitting in it, parked waiting for LuvinmyEB to come out of safeway, and a group of 5 guys who would have been about 16 or 17 walked past, all having a good look. Then one of them said "Now THAT's a car", to which all of them nodded their heads and said they agree. Then I heard the same one say in a raised voice "Yes it is", and run around behind the car to read aloud the badges on the rear "Ford Escort, told ya!"

LuvinmyEB has got a real stunner of a car with that Mk I Escort.

When your car has done 700 000 kays and doesn't look or go like a POS ( i am being generous to the old girl there ) I get the odd comment from people complimenting the paint until they find out it is an old taxi. I've lost count how many times I have had to flick the key to show people the odometer.

Nothing is better for the Ego than nice comments about your car at the Bowser or the Carpark. The ones that I really like are ones from someone in another nice or interesting Ford.
"Nice car" to from owners of Old school GTs about my fairly stock BA XR8 or mor previous EL were always a good feeling. Same I dont mind offering good comments about other Fords.

Funniest one i had was when i pulled up at a set of lights one time and an old guy probably in his 60's with white hair and driving an old corolla was checking out my car and saying how much he liked the ride height lol, didnt see that one coming.

Best comment is when i was at a servo once and there was a guy waiting next to my car, turned out he was dead keen on buying it off me, but it was just after i got it and wasn't keen on getting rid of it that early.

Best one I can remember was just after I had a 'small' drag with a Toyota Soarer V8 coupe, I slowed down and yelled out 'That sounds ****in awesome mate', then he said the same thing back to me.

I used to get old people driving V8 NF/NL's talking to me at service stations, until I lowered it at least....

i had some guy come to me at a servo a few months after i got the ED and he started to ask questions like 'does it go good', 'is it reliable' etc i answered accordingly and continued filling up only to see him walk down to a bashed up old vn commodore... which i might ad he had a hard time to start:P

i bet he's probably come over from the dark side by now:P

thats about the best comment i've had of the ed:P no one really likes dented and scratched up old wagons:P

At a house warming last night, mates from work were complimenting the look/condition of Monty.

Today on the way home from Murray Bridge I swapped cars with my mate and let him drive mine the rest of the way home so I could see and hear it from another cars perspective. Both of us had stupid big grins the rest of the way home. He commented on how nice it drives.

Makes all the effort worth it when you get the odd compliment

The Ghia was being a ***** to start on BBQ juice at the servo the other day, some bogan in a clapped VN yells out "haha Ford power!" "So you can read the badge can ya ********?" just as the five cylinder 250 of death fires to life and I boot off, exhaust leaking like a sieve.

Damn that engine is rooted.

I've recieved a few here and there, nothing overwhelming, you get the usual from jealous non-wagon owners, why do up a wagon for?...waste of cash...etc..

I say, 1 day you'll see, my tail lights and your jaw will drop, as I or any other Ford wagon leaves your so called beast in disgust.

Then I get the one, cleanest and nicest wagon I've ever seen, just needs lowering.

Now that I think about it, there was one time when another mechanic said, "you must have wrote the front end off and just had the whole thing resprayed because its so clean, didn't you, looks like straight out of the panel shop".

In one way I took offence, in another I was happy that it looked so clean and maintained.

Actually it was suprising having a BA XR6T 5 speed owner ask what was done to my car because it seemed to go pretty good compared to his..
i thought it went crap personally.

Had the usual few "Nice car mate" when getting fuel, Maccas, etc

the funniest one was at Eastland carpark. Parked up the front near the entrance and came out 1hr later to find a EA with a GT bodykit on it parked right next to my car and to find note on the windshield of my car saying "Nice car dude, Looks tops like mine" with a arrow pointing to his car LOL

I don't get praise as my car is stock standard...

Most of the time it's after I have opened the bonnet or taken someone for a 'spin'... ;)

Mine is mainly the following...
"Nice paint job mate, do you polish it everyday?"

or...

Random - "F***, is that yours?"
Me - "Yeh"
Random - "Looks unreal!"
Me - "You wanna buy it?"

And for those that can remember my first car accident just after I got my car, the owner of a local Ford wrecker here ran to my aid when he saw what happened and goes...
"This your beast mate?"
"Yeh"
"Don't worry, she'll get fixed back to normal, soon as I tow her off the road road for ya"

At the time I think he was more depressed than I was, which made me feel a little better
